Has supported effective budget planning but needs better data management and performance improvements
The problem with Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud is that they use Essbase, causing the volume of data to increase rapidly. My customer has been using it for five years, and the database has increased to two or three terabytes, which is too big. Oracle has a limit on the database for each customer, notifying that the maximum is only three terabytes, requiring me to back it up elsewhere. The use of Essbase results in rapid database growth, which is an issue I think Oracle needs to improve. While the functions in Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud are good, when I create formulas in the dimensions and refresh the data after making new dimensions, elements, or formulas, it takes a long time. I think this performance issue might be due to the large dataset, but since the system is on the cloud, the performance is still poor.

Adaptive scales well, simple to create new budget versions and models
For the organization I used to work at, it streamlined the process of creating budgets. It's very simple to create a new version and do some more modeling based on your need for planning things like headcount, other expenses, and revenue, everything is configurable within Workday. So that made it easy. Reporting was pretty easy to set up as well. It streamlined the amount of time it took to do the budget as well as kind of making it simple to implement a rolling forecast process. So, it really was more just a productivity increase and time shortening for the budgeting and forecasting process.

"Purchasing this product indeed is a value addition; it's not going to be a bomb, it's not going to add any kind of liability, and it will have quite a positive impact on a company."
"Technical support is okay, and I find the technical support from Oracle to be good."
"It's very stable."
"Changes to corporate structure, account codes are updated in all versions including prior years, hence "one-version of truth" as claimed."
"Customer Service: Excellent, always available and hardly needed."
"Reduced planning and budgeting time - it takes hardly a couple of days to complete my entire budgeting exercise, uploading actual data and generating monthly reports with comparison of actual versus budgets in no time."
"Automated reporting."
"The important feature is integration with source data. It connects to various ERP systems, including Workday, Intact, and others. It can also import actuals and compare them to PlanPoint quite easily."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its dashboard."
"It helps develop a more unified work format throughout the company."

Cons

"Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud is definitely pretty old school and not as intuitive or user-friendly."
"On the cloud, additional security is required."
"The problem with Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud is that they use Essbase, causing the volume of data to increase rapidly."
"Integration of AI, IoT, and RPA-based automation and prediction features with the solution will be a great plus. Oracle is continuously investing efforts in this direction and new features are being released on a continuous basis."
"Using Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud has changed how my team works together and collaborates, though sometimes the interface feels unintuitive."
"The customer support for Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud has been somewhat inconsistent. For critical issues, the response is reasonably fast; however, for more complex configuration questions, we often get passed around before finding someone who really understands the product deeply."
"Pricing can be made better affordable to SMEs. Every year price increase is an issue."
"Better user interface (UI)."
"The product's configuration process could be faster."
"Users continue to become more advanced and are looking for more advanced solutions."
"Adaptive Insights has a limit of 1,00,000 rows for HTML reports. It should be improved because we will have multiple dimensions that need to be populated to enhance the image."
"Being able to drill down when using OfficeConnect needs work."
"It's complex; thinking about the business models and capabilities in Adaptive."
"We tried Discovery and OfficeConnect at one point and found them too cumbersome, at the time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its licensing covers support and maintenance infrastructure as well."
"Adaptive Insights' pricing is reasonable."
"Pricing is in line with other cloud-based EPM tools. It is a subscription-based model based upon the number of users and site type if it's an admin or end-user type thing."
"It's affordable."
"Licensing seems to be worth the cost considering the efficiency Adaptive brings."
"Prior to purchasing licenses, make sure you understand which users will only need planning and which users will need both planning and OfficeConnect."
"Ensure that you have the proper pricing plan in place."
"Adaptive Insights' pricing is relative to its peer competitors. It's certainly competitive compared to a spreadsheet template that you build in Excel. It can be expensive if you need to have 100-500 budget holders giving input and building financial plans. However, in that case, it becomes an extremely good bargain. Compared to its competitors, it offers an excellent value."
"Everything is negotiable, but this solution is low cost compared to others."
