Room For Improvement

Oracle Database users seek better pricing, usability, and technical support, with improvements needed in performance, cloud services, and documentation.
SAP HANA faces criticism for high cost, complex deployment, resource limitations, and a challenging interface, affecting adoption and usability.
SQL Server needs better pricing, integration, security, performance, and support, with improvements in Management Studio, encryption, and cloud services.
Oracle Database needs improvement in data analytics capabilities, AI involvement, machine learning, and deep learning.
One existing feature that distinguishes Oracle Database from others is its ability to log errors in the database itself.
The main issue is the ecosystem, which lacks the widespread support that SQL enjoys.
The setup process and deployment process for SAP HANA is complex.
Licensing costs with SAP HANA are very high.
I would appreciate using Microsoft Pro as it can integrate with Excel or, with a simple query, consume information from the database using Microsoft Excel.
When we consider the price for replication in another site, the pricing becomes prohibitive.

Setup Cost

Oracle Database is costly with complex licensing, though offers discounts; valued for features but hefty traditional licensing persists.
SAP HANA's high pricing favors larger enterprises, requiring careful budgeting, with some opting for alternatives due to costs.
SQL Server pricing is costly but cheaper than Oracle, with various licensing options and a free Developer Edition available.
For medium businesses, Oracle and IBM DB2 pricing are quite similar.
It's a recurring subscription model, which is expensive compared to legacy systems with just a maintenance fee.
SAP is not a cheap company, and its licenses are expensive.
I would rate the price for SAP HANA as high.

Valuable Features

Oracle Database is renowned for high availability, scalability, security, and comprehensive features, making it essential for enterprises.
SAP HANA offers real-time analytics, integration, scalability, and a user-friendly interface, supporting large enterprises with efficient data handling.
SQL Server offers dynamic resource allocation, high availability, performance, security, integration, ease of use, scalability, and extensive support.
Its data management capabilities include data quality, data integration, data architecture, modeling, and data security, which are very important for data-driven companies.
Regarding what I value about Oracle Database, as far as execution is concerned, I think it is one of the best databases I have come across.
This architecture allows for faster data processing and real-time analytics that were not possible with traditional databases.
The concept enhances speed, allowing the database to serve and move data quickly.
One of our dashboards using Excelsius was previously developed on normal BW on Oracle data, which took 10 minutes to open. After developing the same calculation views using those tables and replacing them with calculation views in Excelsius, the dashboard opened in seconds.
I have been working with SQL Server for a long time, and it works well for me as I am using it in different applications, such as web applications, Windows applications, or the data warehouse reporting.
The best features of SQL Server are availability and stability.

Has developed advanced procedures and improved flexibility through extensive experience
One existing feature that distinguishes Oracle Database from others is its ability to log errors in the database itself. We can directly log the errors, which I have observed and used. Another improvement could be the ability to predict the actual time required to execute a particular query or procedure. This would be very helpful. If it has already been predicted that a particular query will take a specific amount of time, then there is no point in waiting for execution, especially during testing. For instance, if we are doing improvement or optimization for a particular query, and we are aware that this query will take one hour, we can stop it immediately and do more optimization instead of waiting.

Users appreciate the mix of in-memory architecture and ease of backend management
The most valuable SAP HANA features are that, compared to Oracle, there is less administrative work and less complex work to handle, making it very straightforward. The tool itself takes care of the backend work. The main benefits SAP HANA provides to users include its architecture, which combines both column store and row store capabilities. Some places find the row feature important, whereas others find column store important. It allows some tables to be stored in a column base, others in a row base, and the In-Memory functionalities are mostly the highlight of SAP HANA, especially compared to disk-based memory users. This was the main reason SAP HANA was introduced initially.

Availability and financial reporting thrive with robust integration tools
The best features of SQL Server are availability and stability. We never have concerns about the database. The ability of SQL Server to integrate with other Microsoft services, such as Azure for supporting business intelligence or data analytics, is primarily through Power BI for analytics tools. We use Power BI, but not in the cloud. We have interfaces with other databases. We extensively use the ETL tools of SQL Server for integrating with other databases or text files. The ETL tools are excellent for making jobs that run daily or hourly. For disaster recovery features supporting mission-critical applications in our organization, we have implemented the high availability feature of SQL Server. The always-on feature provides high availability in SQL Server. We use this tool daily for our risk management application.
