Room For Improvement

Oracle users seek cost, complexity, and integration improvements, alongside better support, performance, security, training, and reduced upgrade downtime.
SAP HANA is criticized for high cost, integration challenges, cumbersome interface, complex setup, and need for better customization.
SQL Server needs better integration, cost efficiency, scalability, support, security, and compatibility with non-Windows systems for improved performance.
Oracle Database needs improvement in data analytics capabilities, AI involvement, machine learning, and deep learning.
Licensing costs with SAP HANA are very high.
Many customers still prefer Oracle, possibly due to cost or familiarity, despite SAP mandating that they have to go to SAP HANA.
The setup process and deployment process for SAP HANA is complex.
I would appreciate using Microsoft Pro as it can integrate with Excel or, with a simple query, consume information from the database using Microsoft Excel.

Oracle Database is costly compared to alternatives, but offers robust features; organizations seek better pricing and negotiation options.
SAP HANA is costly, especially on-premise, but cloud deployment offers a more affordable option for smaller businesses.
SQL Server offers generally lower costs than Oracle, but enterprise edition pricing and licensing complexities can be expensive and challenging.
For medium businesses, Oracle and IBM DB2 pricing are quite similar.
It's a recurring subscription model, which is expensive compared to legacy systems with just a maintenance fee.
I would rate the price for SAP HANA as high.
SAP is not a cheap company, and its licenses are expensive.

Valuable Features

Oracle Database is known for its scalability, security, advanced analytics, robust support, and flexible architecture supporting various operating systems.

This architecture allows for faster data processing and real-time analytics that were not possible with traditional databases.
The concept enhances speed, allowing the database to serve and move data quickly.
It allows some tables to be stored in a column base, others in a row base, and the In-Memory functionalities are mostly the highlight of SAP HANA, especially compared to disk-based memory users.
I have been working with SQL Server for a long time, and it works well for me as I am using it in different applications, such as web applications, Windows applications, or the data warehouse reporting.

Users appreciate the mix of in-memory architecture and ease of backend management
The most valuable SAP HANA features are that, compared to Oracle, there is less administrative work and less complex work to handle, making it very straightforward. The tool itself takes care of the backend work. The main benefits SAP HANA provides to users include its architecture, which combines both column store and row store capabilities. Some places find the row feature important, whereas others find column store important. It allows some tables to be stored in a column base, others in a row base, and the In-Memory functionalities are mostly the highlight of SAP HANA, especially compared to disk-based memory users. This was the main reason SAP HANA was introduced initially.

Helps monitor queries and identify which indexes need to be created in the databases
SQL Server is very simple due to its GUI, which is available for users. It allows for modifications and has execution plans available, along with options such as activity monitoring. This helps monitor queries and identify which indexes need to be created in the databases, tables, or columns to improve performance.
