It offers a simple implementation of business and infrastructure dashboards but the monitoring services need improvement.
* Service group capability * Ability to monitor users experience * Simple implementation of business and infrastructure dashboards * Network traffic monitoring Also, OpMon offers: * Greater scalability * Easy to manage and implement * The ability to create business groups that generate more accurate information * It has a robust and agile architecture; and * A highly trained team that gives it a lot of credibility.

Helps reduce response time but has room to improve customization complexity
We are not working on simple standalone solutions like Kaspersky DDoS Protection or Hybrid Cloud Security. Once you understand Zabbix, then it is easy to customize those web pages and graphs for our customer use. It is fully automated to your requirements. Zabbix is working fine with no issues, and I am satisfied with it. We have combined Zabbix and SolarWinds. The integration works fine, and it is easy to integrate Zabbix with the IT environment. We were trying to purchase MDR (Managed Detection and Response), but we are not working on that. I don't have real experience with MDR. We are using Falcon software for that. We are working with Falcon Complete, not with Sandbox. We are not using Kaspersky for business or cloud protection. For that, we are using Zabbix CrowdStrike Falcon Complete solution. I have given this review an overall rating of 8.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Since we started using OpMon, we have increased our assertiveness and consequently reduced costs with fewer errors."
"As a consulting company we implement management solutions to a large variety of companies and after working with OpMon our project time was reduced and we can offer a different solution to each customer."
"This solution is completely open-source, so it is quite affordable."
"The features I found most valuable are the user interface and a wide range of network devices that are easy to configure."
"The initial setup was pretty straightforward, we did not face any issues and it was up and running within a day."
"This solution is very good for data reporting."
"The integration with third-party tools and the alerts are most valuable."
"One of the real benefits is the API; you can do anything with an API, it makes life much easier."
"There is less computing power needed for scaling."
"Zabbix is an excellent performance monitoring tool."

Cons

"Infrastructure and business monitoring services need improvement."
"Zabbix isn't a great tool for cloud-specific monitoring - its connection to public clouds needs to be improved. Other areas for improvement would be the lack of dashboards and integrations."
"The documentation gets a bit messy between versions and is not too detailed, which is a bit painful for first-timers, especially when they run into issues."
"The integration of the product is not so easy, especially when it comes to the application database."
"To improve Zabbix, adding more features to support the monitoring of modern workloads like containers would be beneficial."
"I wish it had more options for personalizing the product, such as being able to include your company's logo without editing text files."
"Zabbix claims that there is an auto-discovery process but my team member was facing difficulty and was told that it's not really automatic, and there are some manual steps."
"Reporting is weak, if you want something better you must write your own SQL scripts."
"It's open-source software, and due to that, they really don't have legacy service monitorings like APM, or build-on capabilities, and the pure part of the transaction-related data."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Zabbix is a free solution but the support contact costs money."
"We are using the free, open-source version."
"This is an open-source solution that can be used free of charge."
"We pay the subscription for support by year."
"This solution is completely open-source, so it is quite affordable."
"It is open source. If you want to have a subscription or official support, you can pay for it. They have different plans, which are not that expensive. The plans are based on per monitoring server, not per monitored equipment. So, it is not at all expensive, and you can also live without the support if you want a cheaper option."
"Zabbix is open-source so if one wishes to implement it in-house, they must have qualified professionals to set up and optimize databases, Linux/Unix OS, PHP, Apache, and depending on what is monitored, a full-stack network and systems administrator may be needed."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."

Nagios vs. Zabbix vs. PRTG vs. Spiceworks vs. Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor
I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want…

What is your experience regarding pricing and costs for Zabbix?
I think Zabbix is economical, whereas SolarWinds is expensive. SolarWinds has a lot of secure features, but Zabbix is providing everything free of cost. Zabbix is economical, and you can install it...
What needs improvement with Zabbix?
I am using only Area Operations, but I don't prefer it. I installed Zabbix for the 3000 devices. Area Operations is not good.
What is your primary use case for Zabbix?
I am still working with VMware and Area Operations, but I installed Zabbix now. I think Zabbix is better than VMware Area Operations. It's really good. I'm working with both Zabbix and VMware now.
