Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Helpful impact analysis and the discovery capability is quite good
This tool works hand-in-hand with RPA technology. RPA will allow you to control your servers by deploying the server automation agent. You don't have the discovery, but then you can deploy the policies that maintain the authorized versus current state. On top of that, you can use server automation to deploy patches or remediate configuration issues on the operating system. My advice to anybody who is implementing this solution is to ensure that the process is set up properly, first. Once the process is set up, the tool will do the rest for you. Overall, this is a comprehensive tool that works well, and I wouldn't touch it other than to enhance the UI and make containerization work without the CDF. I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

Compliance management has improved efficiency but licensing changes pose challenges
I am not using any advanced features or AI. I am employing a basic VMware vCenter setup for my infrastructure. Scalability has no major limitations, and the solution is efficient. Overall, it's satisfactory. I would rate the vCenter experience as seven out of ten due to concerns regarding license, pricing, and AI features.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Based on my experience, I would recommend Microsoft Intune to organizations looking for management of a large number of devices and enterprise environments."
"Easy to use."
"Microsoft integrated BitLocker and Active Directory into Intune, simplifying management."
"Without Microsoft Intune, it would be extremely challenging, if not impossible, for a large company to send out computers to users and have them set up and ready to use right out of the box in a remote location."
"The ability to push applications on devices is valuable. You do not have to manually install applications one by one. If you like to use ten different applications, you do not have to manually go and download them one by one. Intune can compile a package for you, and then you can just push them from the admin center."
"The policy and compliance monitoring of devices and the software deployment are most valuable."
"The solution is fully integrated with the Microsoft platform and the Autopilot feature, which is a unique feature."
"It's really easy to access."
"Helps me perform changes in connected infrastructure thanks to the discovery features."
"The most valuable feature is the impact analysis."
"The product's deployment phase was easy."
"The most valuable features of vCenter Configuration Manager are highly mature technology."
"The migration feature of vCenter Configuration Manager is the most loved feature so far."
"There are a lot of features, but I've found vMotion and VRS most valuable."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to see which virtual machines need more resources or are over-committed."
"It has many valuable features that serve many purposes."
"vCenter Configuration Manager is a stable solution that is very easy to manage and deploy."
"The most valuable feature of vCenter Configuration Manager is the ease of provisioning."

Cons

"We faced issues with macOS support. The product should have better inventory and asset management."
"Reporting can be better. Only global administrators can see detailed reports at the moment, and I don't want to use the global admin."
"Microsoft Intune lacks the ability to provide seamless remote assistance or remote control."
"Intune doesn't provide much control over Windows servers. It's something we struggle with."
"Microsoft Intune could improve by being more user-friendly and having it geared toward device management. The graphic interface is not very good."
"Lacks the ability to deploy more ways of management, managing devices and processing the policies."
"In an upcoming release, I would like to see some kind of analytics report."
"It could offer more attributes for authentication."
"The native UI should be simplified because it is outdated and a little bit over-complicated."
"The price could be reduced."
"The technical support is not as responsive as it could be. They are slow to respond to our issues with a resolution. There should be online chat support added."
"The cost of this solution should be improved."
"Error reporting should be more precise and descriptive, and there is no way to filter the logs. It would be helpful if its logs analysis can be more detailed, and the logs can be filtered."
"The solution could provide even more capacity."
"There isn't a clear document covering all the errors. It would be helpful if the company provided better documentation for solving issues."
"The interface itself is not very user-friendly."
"The customer service and support are not as good as that of other solutions. It is not very fast."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is competitive, but it is not cheap."
"Intune is included with our F3 and E5 licenses."
"There is a cost benefit of using Microsoft Intune because of the packaging with other Microsoft products."
"Licensing depends on how you are providing support to your enterprise, whether it's device-based or user-based."
"It comes with the E5 plan. We bought the E5 plan from Microsoft."
"Microsoft Intune is expensive."
"If you're ever going to buy an Office 365 environment, then pricing is reasonable given all that it does, but if you're not, then you might find the pricing expensive."
"Its price is fair. It's a normal price. It isn't too expensive or too cheap."
"This is a really good tool for the money."
"The pricing is mid-range so I rate it a six out of ten."
"There is a free license for the standard version. Their enterprise version is expensive. I would advise starting with one server and working your way up as you go. The enterprise version provides support."
"I rate the tool's pricing an eight out of ten. The product has increased its cost by at least two to three times its previous cost."
"We have to pay for the whole bundle and individual pricing is not available. One license costs us almost $200 every year."
"The product price and licensing fees are reasonable, especially when compared to other products in the market."
"This product is not cheap. I have a yearly license for vCenter and the license is not cheap."
"Price-wise, the product is an affordable one. The additional expenses, apart from the licensing costs of the solution, are attached to the support a user wants to receive from vCenter Configuration Manager's end."
"Users need to pay a yearly licensing fee for the solution, which is expensive."
