Is scalable and easy to use, but the monitoring feature needs improvement
The support for Micro Focus Service Virtualization is better than that for other products. The technical support staff are highly skilled. Sometimes, we don't have to open a ticket. We can just go into the community and then talk to them directly. I would rate technical support at seven out of ten.

Easy to set up and scale but needs more data virtualization capabilities
I'm working with a service organization and I'm working for a client and that client requires this solution. That's why we use it. Basically, we are just a customer and end-user. The solution is easy to set up and a good tool for the service virtualization so far. I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten. If the product could do more things, I'd give it higher marks.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The feature which is most valuable in this solution is the ease of use; the product is very easy to use and implement, and we can adjust the performance level to simulate the best service, normal services, or bad situations in many possible ways."
"The most valuable feature is that it reduces the dependency so that the down time of the environment is not a major cost. That cost can be used for something else like the cloud."
"Don't give up. It may sound very expensive at the beginning, but we have realized more than $15 million in savings at one of our major healthcare clients."
"It is easy to use. This is what I tell my customers. The coding is easier to develop as well."
"HPE SV helped me and my ALM team minimize workforce, reduce costs, and transition from hardware to virtualization; my software is more secure preproduction."
"I was blown away with how fast the implementation was."
"We used technical support once in a while. The support is fantastic."
"With Service Virtualization, it's much less expensive and we can turn them off and on when we need to."
"The solution is easy to set up and a good tool for the service virtualization so far."
"Easy testing environment creation. No need to have deep development/infrastructure knowledge."
"The initial setup is quite easy to manage."
"Parasoft Virtualization allowed us to create a simulated environment and test the code before entering the testing cycle."
"We now have the ability to test our complex applications completely detached from integration middleware, which improves the reliability, speed, cost, and simplicity of testing."
"Parasoft Virtualize helped us in accelerating application delivery by allowing us to test early."
"Parasoft's product is easier to operate, and drives the user to make the right decisions and complete the work efficiently."
"Service Virtualization has provided a way to move forward where we do not find any way to go."

Cons

"HPE products are good, but they never make a product for a specific use. They make a product for the enterprise because that is their vision. They like multi-generational business plans. That means that they don't deliver small bits and pieces, but rather, they deliver to the enterprise."
"Sometimes it stops working after switching remote and local servers."
"I would like them to reduce the cost of the licenses."
"As it stands now, the debugging capacity within the tool is fairly limited."
"I’m rating it a 7 because it is not a fully evolved virtualization tool compared to other tools offering the same service."
"The monitoring feature is not impressive because they use Windows for so much monitoring. They set a lock on the window, and then we have to gather the information from the main monitoring feature in the Windows server. There is not enough capacity for problem solving performance issues."
"Early on though, we saw some stability issues with the design that would occasionally crash."
"I am not impressed with the technical support provided by Micro Focus (for an official ticket)."
"An area of improvements would be Data Repository, as in current stage it is difficult to manage data from this aspect."
"It should have more fine-grained authorization."
"It would be ideal if the product offered more in terms of data virtualization or have a separate product that could be combined with this one that could offer a bit more in order to cover more of our requirements."
"It is somewhat complex regarding its configuration setup with different technologies."
"Performance enhancement for large payloads."
"This product is too expensive when scaling."
"When Virtualize is running on a (virtual) machine with limited memory, over time it might consume more and more memory and (worst case) stall."
"Only about the memory, if you don't meet the minimum RAM required, performance is not stable."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's an expensive solution, but you can get discounts. You have to buy one server and one designer together, for example, and it may cost 15 million Thai Baht."
"Micro Service Virtualization is very expensive. The pricing of this product is in line with all of the other big name-brand products."
