Well-suited for mobile and portable device usage but issues with stability
The problem is that when the number of users increases, TP-Link automatically drops the speed, and in terms of coverage, it falls short. We are not using any industrial-level equipment or accuracy. We are looking for something at the industrial level, advanced Access Points, not the basic ones from TP-Link. Omada Access Points could be improved in terms of connectivity and speed. That is the main thing. The other thing is security. Currently, most people are sharing their passwords, allowing unauthorized users to access Wi-Fi networks. So, the main areas for improvement are security, accessibility, and speed.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Ability to control the access points by groups."
"The tool's best part is the GUI. It is user-friendly and fast due to AI features. The solution can help you fix things with AI, which is impressive."
"Multi PSK (Pre-shared Key) is a very good feature in the solution...Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"Regarding features, the solution seems to be very intuitive."
"If you compare wired versus wireless, it's convenient. You don't need to have one place for connectivity. You can move around and it's easier. Sometimes it's a hassle to work with wires, which is why wireless is so convenient."
"The triangulation feature can be used to determine where a person is in relation to the access point."
"Mist AI and Cloud is the best solution I have seen in the industry, especially from the artificial intelligence perspective, as it helps businesses."
"The cost is the most valuable aspect of this solution."
"Omada is easy to manage, has cloud management features, and is easy to set up."
"The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is easy to deploy and reliable."
"The initial setup is not complicated."
"Omada Access Points are very good in terms of wired technologies and wired connectivity."
"Its sturdiness and cost-effectiveness are the most valuable features."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The solution has been dependable and has kept up with modern technology."
"This product is easy to use."

Cons

"There are many aspects of AI, and how acquisitions are proceeding, particularly between Juniper and Aruba, remains unclear."
"The inter-functionality with other vendors was a negative for us."
"There is no local support for Mist in Brazil."
"There seems to be different versions of standards used in the wireless access points. In the future, it would be helpful if the solution could come up with some kind of universal standard for all devices and all access points."
"There could be more integration."
"Currently, the solution lacks the ability to configure with other solutions from other vendors."
"If Juniper or Mist can enhance the management of third-party devices, it would make sense, as the current functionalities offer limited insight compared to managing Juniper or Mist devices."
"Mist AI and Cloud need to improve the configuration speed."
"Upgrading the hardware capabilities to newer versions like Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 would be a helpful improvement."
"It is less affordable for smaller businesses."
"There is room for wider improvements and additional features to enhance managing capabilities."
"Omada's ordering platform could be improved, though. Some of their distributors are a pain to work with."
"It's better for smaller organizations. This would not work for enterprises. It is not very scalable."
"Omada needs improvement in the distance it can cover."
"Omada could add some API integrations that would help with our automated solution. We're trying to integrate, and we're having some issues because some of the calls are not there. The API still needs some development."
"TP-Link Auranet EAP is not very efficient, they need to improve it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is about the same compared to other vendors. There is an add-on license, but it's up to you if you want to buy it or not."
"The price of Mist AI and Cloud is approximately 20 percent less than competitors, such as Aruba and Cisco. However, Cisco has a lifetime warranty for its solutions."
"I rate the pricing a seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is low and ten is high."
"Depending on the features, I think it's quite reasonably priced, especially considering the facilities of the product."
"The annual cost is a significant issue for us, and it notably contributes to the overall price. We have a customer with nearly fifty-eight access points in a multifunctional building, and while the setup was relatively simple, the yearly licensing cost is substantial. For the specific features we utilize, the licensing amounts to about forty thousand euros annually. This is not a trivial expense and significantly impacts the overall cost, making it quite high."
"The price is not cheap, but it's a reliable solution and very easy for management."
"The price of this product is approximately the same as competing products in the market."
"Mist AI and Cloud is expensive."
"The price of the solution is not a lot for five people to use it."
"The cost is about 500 Brazilian real per access point, with no additional recurring costs."
"On a scale of one to ten for pricing, with one being cheap and ten being expensive, I would rate Omada Access Points at a one for its cost-effectiveness."
"The price is affordable, and we haven't had any additional costs due to having a limited number of users."
"We don't have to pay for the license because the solution has no subscription cost."
"The cost of Omada is much better than Aruba and Cisco, and it does what we need it to do in most cases. Around 10 percent of our clients need a more carrier-grade solution for mobile platforms."
"TP-Link provides solutions that are more cost-effective than other well-known brands."
"TP-Link is a good price. They have a good price. But technology-wise, it has to be better."
