A highly stable and easy-to-deploy product that keeps organizations safe
The product keeps our company safe Recently, a user tried to open an unsafe link, and Malwarebytes stopped them. They kept trying and trying, but they could not open it. Later, it turned out to be a fake Microsoft account. So far, we have faced no issues with the product. It is doing what it…

A product that offers good threat detection capabilities to its users
The product has improved my company through its area of threat detection. The other applications use the same engine as Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise. Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise does not have a set of 100 percent useful things in the tool. Sometimes, a user may know that a file system does not contain any viruses, but it is labeled as a virus by Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise, making it an issue for users. The aforementioned problem prompts me to contact the product support team via email so that my company can get some help dealing with such problems. I would say that my experience with deploying the product across multiple devices in my company is not tough and can be easy, especially if you have domain environments. The feature of the product that is the most effective for threat prevention stems from the fact that the tool provides updates. The main problem with the solution is that a user has to do the updates manually, so at times, the product is not useful, especially when the machine has to be shut down for updates when new viruses are introduced on the market. I rate the solution's ease of use and administration a seven and a half out of ten. I suggest that those who plan to buy the solution periodically update the product, especially in the area of the virus engine. I rate the tool an eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The endpoint protection and response that allows us to restore a machine back to a pre-infected state are the most valuable features."
"The most valuable features of Malwarebytes are the EDR and the complete feature set provided."
"Provides successful ransomware shut down operations."
"The most valuable feature is its ability to customize for different groups."
"It allows us to have better knowledge of the way people use the tool and how we can improve their workflows."
"The most valuable feature is that it stops malware, which is important."
"I never have to look at it or do anything with it, and then my system just stays clean."
"We have seen a decrease of approximately ninety percent in the number of events."
"This solution's performance is good, and we've never had any issues with its stability."
"The overall solution is good, particularly the detection engine. It performs well in identifying malware and conducting regular network scans. The product is easy to use."
"The solution works well overall."
"Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise’s interface is good to use."
"Simple and very scalable solution that provides endpoint security and malware protection."
"We use the solution for detection."
"The monitoring and reporting features are pretty awesome."
"Device Control is very user-friendly."

Cons

"They can include advanced scanning and improve reporting. I scan malware on the pen drive. Some more reports need to be added for that. It should also provide better protection because we have a new version of the malware."
"We had a little performance problem with the solution, but that's been resolved. Since then, it's been running well."
"Malwarebytes is too simplistic. From a SOC IR perspective, it doesn't give you very much data around it. It doesn't tie things or provide SHA-1 and SHA-256 detection information, which makes it hard to do an additional investigation."
"Every once in a while, it gets clobbered by updates from other places. I don't think this should happen."
"If they want to compete with bigger players, they should consider adding items like threat detection and website warnings."
"I would like to see integration with other vendors going forward."
"Overall, I haven't found any ways the solution lacks in features or usability."
"There is room for improvement in the way it is deployed, in terms of being able to distribute it. Right now we have to get our hands on a machine to deploy it. It would be nice if there was an easier system."
"The solution needs to be marketed to more consumers so that they will use it."
"It could be more responsive and have fewer delays."
"Unlike traditional tools, Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise does not provide trigger alerts based on user behavior-based traffic."
"Symantec is selling Endpoint Detection Response as a different solution. If it was incorporated in this solution it would be a good thing. This is what the other vendors are doing, such as CrowdStrike. They offer Endpoint Protection(EPP) and Endpoint Detection and Response(EDR) in the same product. If Symantec had something similar, it would be good for customers, they would not need to purchase two different products and then integrate them. They can have a single agent doing two tasks."
"In the future, Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise should improve the firewall and documentation."
"Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise could improve by giving notifications regarding identified threats."
"In the past, I experienced companies that protected themselves with Symantec, suffering some attacks."
"The solution's browser protection in Chrome needs to be improved, as it's the most troublesome aspect of the tool. I have two devices where the browser protection failed, an issue that has yet to be fixed for two months. When updates occur, the client restarts, and the browser protection for Chrome malfunctions. Broadcom needs to improve their ability to hijack a browser session to filter web traffic because that's important, as well as site blocking. This element is missing in the product; most companies have firewalls with web content filtering to prevent employees from accessing specific sites."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"On a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price and ten is a high price, I rate the product's pricing a seven."
"We expect to pay $1,000 USD a month, depending on the number of users."
"The platform pricing is competitive with other antivirus products."
"Its cost is around $60 a machine. The cost of the total solution for 250 people is about $8,500 a year. If we add EDR to it, it will bring that cost up to about $15,000. The cost for Carbon Black is about $25,000, which is $10,000 more, but you get all AI functions with it."
"It is really expensive. We've got between 30 and 40 licenses every year, and for the number of licenses that we have, we're finding that Malwarebytes on average costs between $900 and $1,000 more per year than comparable options. We're paying about $3,300 per year for these licenses. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
"I would say that it's affordable. It costs much less than Sentinel One, CrowdStrike, or anything of that nature. But, at the same time, you are getting what you pay for. So I would say it's one of the best when you're comparing traditional NextGen AVs like Webroot that aren't the best in the bunch."
"Yearly, it is around $50 per client."
"The cost may be something in the ballpark of $20-25 a year per computer."
"I would rate it a seven, indicating a satisfactory and moderate level. Despite being somewhat on the expensive side, it aligns with our long-standing relationship with Symantec, and we find it acceptable."
"The solution's license is very expensive."
"The price of Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise is expensive. When compared to other solutions they should reduce the price."
"The product is not very expensive."
"We have Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise, and it's very competitively priced. However, there is a considerable jump in price for upgrading to the EDR, so that's more compatible with enterprise-level organizations."
"If you have a variety of different endpoints, including heavily protected endpoints and some endpoints that are in the field, Symantec allows you to apply different licensing so you don't have to put everything under Endpoint Complete."
"I rate Symantec Endpoint Security Enterprise's pricing a two out of ten."
"The price of the solution is very low. There is an annual subscription to use the solution."
