Protects against zero-day threats and provides a quick overview of the status of all desktops
The platform's real-time protection works by blocking or quarantining threats when a user clicks on a link or opens an email deemed suspicious. I recommend it for those focused on zero-day threats. However, if you're looking for a one-size-fits-all solution, you may need more than one product. Overall, I rate it a nine out of ten.

Customization capabilities allow clients to autonomously deploy policies
There are a few areas where Trellix Endpoint Security ( /categories/endpoint-protection-platform-epp ) can improve. Firstly, the high CPU utilization when agents are installed can negatively impact client systems. Another issue is with end-users outside the network, where the agent handler sometimes fails to deploy the product properly. Improvements are needed in forensic analytics to detect specific vulnerabilities. It would also help if detection specifics were identified more quickly and the problem-solving process accelerated, especially to meet larger clients' expectations.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We focus on zero-day threats, and Malwarebytes helps minimize the risk."
"It provides a robust defense against cybersecurity threats while offering user-friendly features like notifications and approval prompts."
"I have found many of the features to be useful."
"One valuable feature is Threat Prevention with the on-demand scan."
"A big advantage of McAfee Endpoint Security is the ability to manage very big environments. We are supporting environments with 200,000 to 300,000 endpoints. The ability to manage with one single console is very important for us. McAfee has phenomenally improved in terms of detection. It provides real-time detection and response with the error, Real Protect, and reputations. It is not only based on signatures but also on behavior analytics, artificial intelligence, or machine learning. We have environments that never had issues with ransomware in the last 20 years. McAfee has a very good performance in this field."
"I have not received any complaints about the performance."
"Threat prevention is valuable because most clients use other solutions like antivirus as part of web protection. I don't find that kind of solution useful."
"The installation phase of the solution was very easy."
"The endpoint security, antivirus and firewall are the most valuable features of Trellix Endpoint Security."

Cons

"The product's reporting functionality could be improved. Additionally, there could be enough documentation available."
"We don't like the solution since it requires much memory consumption and consumes much CPU resources."
"We would like to see all the features available on cloud."
"Users can just install software into their computers. We need some sort of application control system that, if there are any pieces of software that are not whitelisted, then the solution could flag it or maybe alert the administers. That would be very helpful."
"There are certain shortcomings in the features concerning DLP in Trellix, where certain additions must be made in the future."
"When it runs in the background of the endpoint, the devices get slowed down for some applications."
"Looking at the current ePolicy orchestrator, and the transition of most vendors to the cloud, they need to do an improvement with the current dashboard or the overall aesthetic of their GUI."
"Continued available training is important for people coming in to use it."
"The email protection isn't efficient enough, and I'd like to see DLP features in the next release."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product pricing is fair. They may negotiate if you contact them directly; otherwise, you'll pay the standard premium."
"It is not that expensive. There is no additional cost. We got the entire bundle together."
"The tool is affordable"
"I do licensing on an annual basis and this is what I always recommend to my clients over the monthly option."
"They should reduce the cost or make it free, open-source software."
"We are on an annual subscription for McAfee MVISION Endpoint. The cost for the license could be less expensive."
"We had a discount when purchasing the solution because of the size of our company and we are happy with the price."
"Since the maintenance is done by our own team, the price of the subscription should really be cheaper."
"McAfee's prices are flexible and can be quite competitive, although there are other solutions that are even more so."
