Featured Reviews

Ayaz Ahmed - PeerSpot reviewer
Works well for threat detection and security
Improvements needed in Logsign SIEM are providing specific security alerts that can be filtered and configured more effectively. There should be a focus on delivering alerts tailored to specific needs rather than overwhelming users with numerous alerts. Additionally, incorporating more mature data about threats is necessary for better threat detection.
Vinay Patel D N - PeerSpot reviewer
Effective with good log analytics but needs better rule correlation
The correlation rules and log mapping are not as mature compared to other SIM tools like Splunk. Sometimes logs will not fetch, and there are issues if the log volume exceeds a threshold. Not every tool is integrated with Sumo Logic. The response time for their support could be better, and it is not very user-friendly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Logsign provides sample logs within the product, allowing users to see how logs will appear before integration, which is a valuable feature for testing and understanding log formats."
"The most valuable features of Logsign SIEM are its cloud capabilities, alerting functionality, integration with Elastic Search, and configuration options."
"It has full automation and automated SIEM responses."
"The Log Analytics platform is the most effective. If we cannot find the data in other tools, like email security or NDR, we can fetch those logs in the Log Analytics platform of Sumo Logic."
"We can integrate threat intelligence solutions into the product."
"We use it to ingest Windows domain controller logs. We use this to monitor if anyone is placed in particular administration groups that potentially shouldn't be. It helps us keep track of people."
"It provides easy visibility. I also like the shareable queries because we share a lot across groups."
"The most valuable features of Sumo Logic Security are the rules, use cases, and ease of use. Additionally, the integration is straightforward and good GUI."
"It gives us a bird's eye view of what's happening from our connection's point of view."
"Sumo Logic is an easy solution to use. You can set it up very quickly, and it includes a lot of training videos."
"With this tool, we provide access to every developer team the ability to find errors, then they come to us and ask for specific help."

Cons

"AI and machine learning need to be developed. If they develop those features, I think everything will be fine."
"Improvements needed in Logsign SIEM are providing specific security alerts that can be filtered and configured more effectively."
"I hope they address the pricing model for Logsign Next-Gen SIEM, especially regarding regional variations. The pricing should not differ based on the country of operation as it can lead to dissatisfaction among customers. A fixed pricing structure would be more favorable for us. I would also suggest enhancing the GUI interface and adding features similar to xFi Exchange from IBM Pure. This would streamline operations and save time for analysts."
"There needs to be improvement on imported data which can be used within Sumo Logic to do more advanced queries."
"If you look at some of the other offerings right now that are available in the market, they do offer APM as well as the product they're offering. I believe Sumo Logic is not there yet. So that's something which I would love to see."
"The correlation rules and log mapping are not as mature compared to other SIM tools like Splunk."
"Sumo Logic Security is expensive, and its pricing could be improved."
"The dashboard has room for improvement, because sometimes it is a difficult to create a specific dashboard or query. This would be a nice place to correct problems."
"The API integration in Sumo Logic Security could improve. There are delayed connections or they stop and then automatically start. Having a seamless log collection would be beneficial."
"It would be nice to have an improved ability to scroll through logs within a time frame. Right now, we can search for specific errors. However, if we want to look for "before and after" within a specific time frame, it's not easy using the tool. This would be an improvement."
"Sumo Logic needs to make sure integrating solutions are seamless."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Compared to other SIEMs, it has low pricing."
"Purchasing Sumo Logic through the AWS Marketplace was a simple step."
"The only limit to the scalability of the product for us is how much we are willing to pay."
"If we went to ELK Stack, which is open source, it would have been less costly, but it would have required more development from our side."
"Pricing has been cheaper than some of the competing tools, like Splunk."
"We chose to go through the AWS Marketplace because it makes it a lot easier when we bill our customers. Rather than having to get multiple different sources of information then correlate a monthly bill for our customers, it is just included in the AWS usage charges."
"The price scaling comes in a bit expensive."
"The license pricing model is based on the events that are processed through the solution."
"I don't pay the bill. I've heard the AWS Marketplace pricing is high, but I like the value."
