A stable solution that can be used for data discovery, but it should include more tutorials for new users

Ease of developing dashboards and receiving strong technical support have enabled efficient data visualization
Introducing custom features, such as NLP-based reports, is not very good in Tableau. My MD has been asking us for a way to write in natural language to request reports that the system should generate, but that isn't very effective with Tableau. As a developer, I can develop an on-demand report in Python quite easily, but exposing a REST API on the Tableau platform is not a very easy task. AI enablement is an area for improvement for Tableau, and that is something they might have to work upon. I have heard that ThoughtSpot is quite better in this regard, but the cost of ThoughtSpot is much higher. ThoughtSpot has lots of natural language-based report generation features that Tableau lacks.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features of Kyvos are reconciliation and its ability to query big data."
"Now, Tableau has become an integral part of our organization for any analytical solution."
"What Tableau can bring to the table: better visualizations, ease of use (in case the end users are business guys and not technical folks) and advanced analysis capabilities."
"Scheduled extract and the multiple connectors are fantastic!"
"For a large company, the ROI is really fast."
"The most important feature is the tool is very easy to use, which makes it simple to introduce it to CxOs, and after a rapid demo they are usually impressed by the results shown because it has such a rare simplicity."
"Analysis is now more visual than in the past."
"I have found many of the self-service features valuable."
"Tableau is easy to use compared to some other solutions, such as Excel."

Cons

"Since I couldn't find any tutorials or a handbook, I had some initial difficulty understanding the UI and the whole interface of Kyvos."
"The integration with other program languages, like Python, needs to be better."
"When we put more information on a single screen, it gets compressed and superimposed in many places while scrolling."
"Tableau doesn't perform well on big data processes."
"The solution does have scalability issues."
"Sometimes it crashes because of the huge database."
"I would like Tableau to handle geospatial data better in terms of multiple layers and shapefiles."
"Expansion of number of visualisations, as well as potential for straight to dashboard function, rather than design individual visualisation – these are, however, genuinely not priority to amend."
"It has some shortcomings: Not very well-made dashboard designing, lack of formatting options, and sometimes not enough operating speed while working with huge amount of data."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The pricing is $70 per month. You have to pay about $800 or something in that ballpark annually for one license."
"There is a license required, we pay an annual license which is priced fair."
"The solution's licensing is based on user-basis. It depends on the business ROI it offers. It's not on the higher side or too cheap; it falls in the medium-cost range. The price is determined by user usage, so the cost will also increase as the number of users increases."
"The price is definitely a point because smaller firms don't use Tableau as it's an expensive tool."
"In Indian Rupees, Tableau costs about 30,000 to 40,000 per year."
"Tableau is free."
"I'm using Tableau Public, which is free."
"Buy 50 at a time. Project your use base every three months, and project your requirements forward."
