Flexible, good data protection, responsive and knowledgeable technical support
They definitely need to improve their reporting. Their dashboard is good. It can always be improved, but for now, it's really simple: you see what works and what doesn't. However, once you get into the enterprise space, you want to make sure that your dashboard has additional, reporting possibilities. You will want more customization and more options available. Because if you move into the enterprise-class space in the financial industry, they will want to know regulations, where the data is held, and how long the retention periods are by marketing group and per type of data. You want to have hooks into the data types, which Keepit doesn't have now, but I'm sure it will soon.

Backup and recovery options integrate smoothly while affordability remains a challenge
My relationship with Veeam is that I am a reseller and system integrator. The support for both cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure from Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 impacts my data protection strategy because that's the reason we are using Veeam. Veeam is a platform that supports both on-prem and cloud. It's a single pane of glass that we can support both, which is one of the good reasons we are using Veeam. The key benefits my organization has experienced with Veeam's integration of SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Teams within its data protection framework are that single licensing is one of the things customers prefer to use because it's very easy for them to manage. I would rate Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 overall an eight on a scale from 1 to 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of this solution is definitely its pricing point. Invoicing is simple. It is one price that includes both licensing and retention requirements, which is rare in today's market. That, I believe, is a significant differentiation for them."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is its performance. Additionally, the user interface and documentation are easy to use and navigate."
"The setup is very simple. It takes 15 minutes."
"I appreciate the feature of having a single tool for backup, replication, and secondary backup; with the same tool, the same job can be extended and configured to meet compliance requirements as per customer needs."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the backups, we do not want to lose any files. Each one of the files is updated on a regular long-term basis and kept together in the Microsoft cloud-only."
"The product is easy-to-use."
"Veeam Backup does backup and restore very well."
"Its ability to restore at the item level is very valuable. It is very strong at that. In the past, we had to restore a lot of data only for a couple of items. We can now restore an item as well as an email, which is good for productivity."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the ease of use. You only need to create a folder in your drive and it's as simple as dragging and dropping files to store them."

Cons

"They definitely need to improve their reporting."
"While I don't have a use case in mind, it would be great if they could integrate more automation capabilities into the solution."
"The license pricing can be reduced."
"One major drawback is that Veeam doesn't support migrating data once it's stored in object storage like S3."
"The customer service and support response time can be improved."
"They need to enable the encryption of backups so that nobody can gain access unless they have encryption details."
"This is a cloud solution, and the speed can be slow sometimes."
"It requires quite an amount of infrastructure. You have to set up the instance, and you need to know quite a bit about Microsoft 365 authentication. For some customers, it is a challenge."
"They need more documentation, awareness, and assistance."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I believe the MSRP is around $5 or $6 USD per person, per month, and per seat."
"The solution is not expensive."
"The pricing model makes this solution more expensive than it needs to be."
"There is a license required for this solution and we pay annually."
"There is an annual license required and a per-user fee for this solution."
