Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We can send the data quickly and securely.""The user interface feels easy to use.""It is easy to transfer large sets of files.""Valuable features include a comprehensive management UI and a strictly controlled managed file transfer.""We receive customized email notifications and alerts regarding user activities and the number of login attempts.""Triggers are also something that is useful as they automate the use of boilerplate code.""The speed of transferring large datasets is super quick, which allows us to work on multiple tasks at a time.""It is platform-independent and can flawlessly work on any operating system using the latest security standards."

More JSCAPE by Redwood Pros →

"Offers a large collection of very good path planning algorithms.""The renaming and timestamp features are great.""The log findings and troubleshooting on MOVEit are pretty easy. When you go to the logs, it clearly tells you what time a transfer happened, what time it failed, what is the source path, what is the destination path, and what is the failure reason. It's pretty straightforward.""Especially at the time of monitoring, it's a nice way to take a look at the script and take a look at run time, which gives enough information for the files that are getting picked or not.""The automation is generally very simple that helps with operational efficiency. Since we mainly created interfaces and scheduled transfers, the tool itself handled the file transfer automation.""The convenience of renaming files and using time stamps to segregate them has been very valuable.""I admire its ability to transfer really large files. One of the files that we transferred was 70 gigs. We didn't try anything larger than that, but so far, whenever somebody came to us to process a really large file, we were able to do it successfully. It can handle large files. That is one thing that I like about Automation.""The most valuable feature of MOVEit is the upload speed."

Cons
"The JSCAPE team could create detailed documents or blogs on how to troubleshoot certain errors that come over in integration with existing environment tools.""The FTP/S and ad-hoc techniques can further be automated.""Providing initial guidance would help new users to understand the UI.""The cost of the tool is relatively high and can pose a problem to medium and small-scale companies who are trying to overcome their on-premise server limitations.""The user interface (UI) could be improved.""The price is too high and the product line is too complex.""Support for more complicated workflows, such as conditional logic or branching, could be added to allow users to create more advanced automation processes.""Enhancing the user interface would make it more accessible and appealing to the new users and it will definitely enhance the user experience."

More JSCAPE by Redwood Cons →

"Since I have to monitor two times a day, it would be nice if they have script templates.""The initial setup is a bit difficult.""Something that I would like to see is better upgrade support. We had looked at getting help with an upgrade, and to do it after hours, it was going to be $6,000. It only takes 15 minutes to do. It'd be nice if the after-hour support was a little more reasonable.""In future releases, MOVEit could add support for some additional protocols. For example, I don't think they supported the SFTP or FTPS protocols at the time.""Communication can be improved between the product owners and users.""If the transfers are more or the file size is big, it takes more time. It doesn't have much capacity to process multiple files at the same time. It can get stuck or take a lot of time to process the files.""It would be beneficial to include a feature that allows you to hide items and not be locked out if someone has made too many password attempts.""It takes some time to learn and understand how the solution functions."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The software is expensive compared to other vendors."
  • More JSCAPE by Redwood Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I haven't really priced out many other products like this, but I feel it's reasonable. Their upgrade support after hours was going to be $6,000. I just made the decision to wing it and just do it during business hours and call support if there was a problem."
  • "When compared to other products I've used, I believe MoveIt is worth the money someone might pay to use it."
  • "Technical support is only available with a paid license."
  • "It's cost-effective."
