Centralized device management has transformed security and streamlined remote provisioning
One area where Microsoft Intune can improve is the user interface. Sometimes the portal feels a bit complex and not very intuitive, especially for new users, and it can take time to find specific settings. Another point is troubleshooting. While logs are available, the diagnostic policies and sync issues can still be time-consuming and not very straightforward. I also feel that reporting could be more detailed and customizable. The built-in reports are helpful, but for deeper insights, I often need to rely on additional tools. Overall, it is a strong solution, but improving usability and troubleshooting experience would make it even better. While Microsoft Intune works very well within the Microsoft ecosystem, the integration of some third-party tools could be smoother and require less customization. Support is another area that could improve, as sometimes response times can be slow, and resolving complex issues may take longer than expected. In terms of features, I think more advanced automation and built-in remediation options would be helpful since common issues can be fixed automatically without manual intervention.

Centralized management simplifies software distribution and patch management
From the features perspective, distribution packages is the best feature in the Ivanti Endpoint Manager. We create tasks for patching or distributing software, appliances, or MSA files and schedule them. We create repair groups, push appliances, create drives, and map shared drives to distribution packages. It distributes the groups included in those packages across our entire network. It is easy to deploy appliances or applications, including OS to workstations within a single click. We can see any missing patches or vulnerabilities. It is very useful for troubleshooting and identifying patches, whether missing or installed. I would suggest including an option to manage multiple clients in future releases. For example, as a managed service provider, if I use Ivanti Endpoint Manager for one client, can I deploy or use the same server to manage other clients or multiple sites or region clients? That feature would be beneficial for managing multiple domains within a single appliance.

It is a complete and competitive solution with excellent OEM support
Matrix42 is a complete solution in terms of functionality. Still, you need to understand whether it's also capable of managing Kubernetes containers to that extent, and this is not very clear in the product fact sheet. It’s possible with Ivanti MobileIron, though, and Matrix42 seems to be one step behind in this aspect. Likewise, in terms of integration, there is still room for improvement in Matrix42 to integrate with more third-party tools compared to Ivanti, which has a larger number of integrations due to its size. MobileIron is an older product that has evolved over time, offering advantages in terms of readily available third-party APIs and integrations.

"I like how Intune deploys the policies and makes them customizable. You can deploy it through Intune and forget about it."
"Before having Intune, we didn't have the capability to have computers wiped, couldn't manage the operating system from a central location, and weren't able to deploy policies and verify software updates, and it's helped with software update needs, operating system version update needs, and security policy enforcement."
"The dashboards, the security, and the customization capabilities work very well for us."
"It works well if you have a Microsoft environment."
"Ivanti is a great product from a security perspective."
"The most beneficial aspect of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it is cost-friendly."
"The most beneficial aspect of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it is cost-friendly."
"The main benefits of Ivanti Endpoint Manager include patch management and security benefits such as vulnerability management, and it is particularly useful for managing devices in a centralized console."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager has served us well over the years, supporting operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 10."
"What I appreciate most about Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it's easy to enroll the device, the patch is very impressive, and the patching part of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is much easier compared to InTune, where in InTune, you have to create the app deployment, but Ivanti Endpoint Manager makes it much easier to update any patch, patch updates, and application updates."
"The license cost is lower than other products in the market."
"The product saves time and money."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the ability to assign a package to a user on a system if you have your software packages set up via SCCM, as it automates the process, which is very convenient, especially since most of our people are remote."
"Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility Management offers on-premises deployment."

It automates the process, which is very convenient, especially since most of our people are remote. Additionally, the overall functionality is good."

Cons

"Applying security recommendations can be difficult in Microsoft Intune. Sometimes, they give you recommendations, but you need a different server to manage the pieces, or you have to go to each device individually. However, it has been improving. Before, there were certain policies you could not implement directly in Intune, but now I see progress. I would like to see more improvement in policy management, similar to how we used group policies on-premises."
"We have spoken to the technical support on a few occasions. They have only ever provided us with minimal information."
"We would like to see support for Chrome and/or devices for Chromebooks."
"Microsoft Intune could improve by being more user-friendly and having it geared toward device management. The graphic interface is not very good."
"Since the devices are configured over the Internet, whatever policy we apply from the compliance portal does not reflect immediately on the endpoint."
"Areas for improvement in Intune include expanding support beyond Samsung devices to accommodate other Android manufacturers like Redmi and Motorola."
"One big problem with Microsoft is that they're changing the names of the products quite often, or they're quite consistently doing so. Constantly switching the user interface or the administrative interface makes it quite hard to keep pace."
"To make it a perfect ten, it would be helpful if there was a better way to troubleshoot user issues, as I've had a few users with corrupt files before and had to redeploy it without knowing the root cause."
"Despite the good features, I would suggest improvements in the console interface of the Ivanti Endpoint Manager as it appears outdated, reminiscent of the early 2000s."
"When it comes to the reporting part, it needs to be improved. The executive reports and the deployment reports can be more improvised."
"The reporting functionality and user interface could be improved. The options to generate reports should be more dynamic rather than static."
"Despite the good features, I would suggest improvements in the console interface of the Ivanti Endpoint Manager as it appears outdated, reminiscent of the early 2000s."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager is not user-friendly and feels outdated, which affects usability."
"They should create instructional videos for every feature such as software management and patch management to help beginners who are new to Ivanti Endpoint Manager."
"The product's implementation process is in areas of concern where improvements are required."
"Improvements could be made in creating collections and enhancing patch packaging."
"Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility Management could improve the user interface, it is not very intuitive."
"Matrix42 Enterprise Mobility Management could improve the user interface, it is not very intuitive."
"In terms of integration, there is still room for improvement in Matrix42."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Microsoft Intune is moderately priced. There is a monthly license required to use the solution and it is approximately eight dollars per month."
"Microsoft Intune is expensive."
"We are partners, so we receive some discount. However, from the customer's perspective, Microsoft Intune's pricing is competitive with non-Microsoft technology, and the price is good compared to other market competitors."
"Intune comes with the licensing that is common for large organizations. However, Microsoft has recently released many add-ons that are very expensive, especially for large organizations or corporations."
"The price could be better."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis."
"Microsoft Intune is a cost effective choice. It is less expensive than other products on the market."
