Customizable features streamline installation and integration challenges remain
Our company is a partner of Infor in Germany. We mainly use Infor DEPM for finance solutions Infor DEPM has features that are well-prepared by Infor. I do not need to have my own tools; I only need to customize many elements. This makes it easier to install and work with. With the prepared…

Has supported global reporting needs and integrates well with internal systems
The features I find most valuable are the standard ones which we are required to use, as this is a group setup we use worldwide, so the reporting is quite standard. We have integrated OneStream XF with ERP and HCM systems. I mostly value their reporting features. OneStream XF's unified structure makes it easier for our financial consolidation and planning processes, though I would say we have a standardized way of using it and not that much forward-looking. They have helped enhance decision-making with analytics, but I think it's not that supportive. It depends on the use; it's okay for collecting information and setting it up, but for business support, we don't get much from it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Our customers have the solution deployed on the cloud or on-premises. The deployment took about a month."
"It was useful for consolidating data from subsidiaries and having global reports."
"I do not need to have my own tools; I only need to customize many elements."
"It has given us the ability to not only deliver key reports and metrics, but also to make them available on a self service basis."
"Integration with other software applications is so user friendly and also it's a single ledger designed system."
"All our customers have experienced a return on investment, as they have been included on the list of calls."
"For planning and consolidation this is a perfect choice."
"If you are using only spreadsheets and have to download your data from various sources then you will have to reconcile these to build reports that make sense, this product will improve your life."
"OneStream XF's unified structure makes it easier for our financial consolidation and planning processes, though I would say we have a standardized way of using it and not that much forward-looking."
"The product's most valuable feature is extensibility."
"We were with Oracle previously. With Oracle, you have to buy a different piece of software for every business process. If you want to do budgeting, that's a product. If you want to do consolidation, that's a product. If you want to do BI type of work, that's yet another product. So, you end up buying a lot of software from Oracle. With OneStream, it is a little different. It is a platform where you can do all those things, and you can do them with just one software purchase and then you just pay for users on it."
"It offers great ease of use. This impacts not only the end-user experience but also the administrator's, which affects the total cost of ownership."
"OneStream XF is advantageous because it provides one product that can do everything; users do not have to purchase separate products for consolidation, planning, and reporting, which saves time and money in training and setup."

Cons

"We'd like to see improvement in the reporting feature. The usability could be better."
"The bigger the database with accelerators the more unstable it is, but without accelerators the model would not run."
"However, I found it buggy, clunky, and very stiff."
"A web-based version would provide greater usability and I believe is still in the development pipeline."
"The latest version has been cloud-enabled, but it requires a deeper understanding of programming skills compared to the previous versions, which were more user-friendly."
"The initial setup from a user perspective can be cumbersome and has room for improvement."
"From my perspective, I think Infor dEPM is a good solution for clients who want to deep dive into data analysis in finance, but it may be complicated."
"The mobile offering and dashboards need work, however this has been improved upon in more recent versions of Infor BI."
"There are longstanding challenges with OneStream XF, particularly around the technical aspects that require scripting skills, typically managed by finance departments."
"AI is where I see the most innovation and progress, but it's not fully developed yet."
"It's okay for collecting information and setting it up, but for business support, we don't get much from it."
"Currently, they only support one browser, and it would be good if you could use it on Chrome, Firefox, etc. It is a little frustrating that you can only use a certain Microsoft browser. They're pretty tightly aligned with Microsoft. So, I can see the reasons for it."
"We should be able to download the data in the same format we upload it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is competitive."
"It's a very expensive product, and I would rate it at nine out of ten, with ten being the most expensive. There are yearly licensing costs."
"While the licensing cost of Infor dEPM may be costly, it is still more affordable than SAP BusinessObjects EPM, for example."
"They price it by the user. Before discounting, it is 2,500 or something like that."
"The product has a license by the user. They're on par with other competitors."
"The licensing is expensive."
