The solution reduced our operational expenditures and is able to identify points before we even noticed them
The management interface seems to be designed for high-resolution screens. Somebody with a smaller-resolution screen might not like the web interface. I run a 4K monitor on it, so everything fits on the screen. With a lower resolution like 1080, you need to scroll a lot. Everything is in smaller windows. It doesn't seem to be designed for smaller screens. When I change the resolution to 1080, I only see half of what I would on my big 4K monitor. It would be annoying to have to scroll to see the flow chart. They have a flow chart that goes top to bottom like a tree. On a lower resolution, it might be nice if that scrolls horizontally because it's long, narrow, and tall. It's only three icons wide, but it's 15 icons tall. I think it would be helpful to have the ability to change that for a smaller screen and customize the widget.

Modern API design has transformed documentation workflows and supports interactive testing
Scalr helps with API testing and client functionality, which includes a built-in Try It tool similar to Postman, allowing developers to test endpoints, manage environment variables, and see request history. The faster response is due to the CI/CD workflow integrating with GitHub Actions and another tool to automatically update and version documentation as the codebase evolves. Other features include data formatting, where I can convert strings to uppercase, trim white spaces, or concatenate first and last names into a full name field. In scientific contexts, a scalar is a physical quantity described only by magnitude with no direction. In environmental aspects, monitoring and measuring temperature, pressure, or humidity, resource tracking, and calculating mass, volume, density, or time duration reflect the best impact on my organization. One specific outcome I have noticed is scholarly publishing. Scalr is also an open-source platform for born-digital, media-rich publishing, allowing scholars to create interactive online books that integrate high-resolution media with sophisticated archival structures.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like Turbonomic's automation and AI machine learning features. It shows you what it can do, but it can also act on recommendations automatically. Integration with an APM system makes the AI/ML features truly effective. Understanding what the application is doing and the trends of application behavior can help you make real-world decisions and act on that information."
"Turbonomic is an excellent product as far as we are concerned for managing the pod sizes and determining the best sizing for those pods."
"Since our organization provides managed services to our clients, it is important our engineers are able to retrieve not only real-time data but the recommendations and rightsizing information instantly."
"My experience with Turbonomic has been exceptional, they've offered me a $25 gift card to write a review of their company but I'd gladly write them a review for free."
"This tool offers us the best mechanism we have had so far to implement this effort."
"Turbonomic gives us insight and assurance that we are meeting operational targets."
"Customer service has always been exceptional and technical support has been very quick to respond and very knowledgeable."
"We have been able to use the planning feature to consolidate VMs on few hosts and have been able to show savings of several hundred thousands."
"After all the years of helping enterprises implement API strategies at SmartBear, I can confidently say Scalr is what the industry has been waiting for."
"I was able to deal with requests without needing every server on; I could turn them off."

Cons

"GUI is ugly."
"The management interface seems to be designed for high-resolution screens. Somebody with a smaller-resolution screen might not like the web interface. I run a 4K monitor on it, so everything fits on the screen. With a lower resolution like 1080, you need to scroll a lot. Everything is in smaller windows. It doesn't seem to be designed for smaller screens."
"We found that if we didn't keep up with some incremental version updates, the required jump to the next version required a complete re-deploy from an image."
"Email alerts could be more comprehensive."
"Since Turbonomic can do so much, it can be a complex system to look at for one that haven’t laid eyes on it before."
"It would be good for Turbonomic, on their side, to integrate with other companies like AppDynamics or SolarWinds or other monitoring softwares. I feel that the actual monitoring of applications, mixed in with their abilities, would help. That would be the case wherever Turbonomic lacks the ability to monitor an application or in cases where applications are so customized that it's not going to be able to handle them. There is monitoring that you can do with scripting that you may not be able to do with Turbonomic."
"Reports take time to custom tweak."
"It would be great if Turbonomic allowed us to get the report for VM with RDM with its compatibility mode."
"Regarding licensing, if I buy a licensing key, it is beneficial, but if I have a lesser standing, it is not as good."
"We did use AWS autoscaling but Rackspace left something to be desired."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We see ROI in extended support agreements (ESA) for old software. Migration activities seem to be where Turbonomic has really benefited us the most. It's one click and done. We have new machines ready to go with Turbonomic, which are properly sized instead of somebody sitting there with a spreadsheet and guessing. So, my return on investment would certainly be on currency, from a software and hardware perspective."
"It is an endpoint type license, which is fine. It is not overly expensive."
"I don't know the current prices, but I like how the licensing is based on the number of instances instead of sockets, clusters, or cores. We have some VMs that are so heavy I can only fit four on one server. It's not cost-effective if we have to pay more for those. When I move around a VM SQL box with 30 cores and a half-terabyte of RAM, I'm not paying for an entire socket and cores where people assume you have at least 10 or 20 VMs on that socket for that pricing."
"In the last year, Turbonomic has reduced our cloud costs by $94,000."
"If you're a super-small business, it may be a little bit pricey for you... But in large, enterprise companies where money is, maybe, less of an issue, Turbonomic is not that expensive. I can't imagine why any big company would not buy it, for what it does."
"The product is fairly priced right now. Given its capabilities, it is excellently priced. We think that the product will become self-funding because we will be able to maximize our resources, which will help us from a capacity perspective. That should save us money in the long run."
"I consider the pricing to be high."
"What I can advise is to trial the product, taking advantage of the Turbonomic pre-sales implemention support and kickstart training."
