Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

The tool's deployment is easy. HP Wolf Security's deployment was a swift process since it was initially compatible with Windows 10, the operating system on both machines. However, when I transitioned to Windows 11, I encountered minor issues that prompted me to delve deeper into Wolf Security to fine-tune security settings according to my preferences. While I mostly used default settings, there was an initial adjustment where I disabled the AI function related to malware. Currently, the system is running smoothly with no reported issues. Adjusting some settings raised concerns about compatibility between HP Wolf Security and Norton 360. Specifically, aspects of HP Wolf Security, such as the virtual machine component, intrigued me, but I hesitated due to potential conflicts. During my investigation, Windows 11 raised a flag, questioning the system's security settings with Norton 360 and HP Wolf Security. However, it seems that they coexist well without causing issues.

Built faster threat response and improved visibility with real-time monitoring and flexible deployment
TrendAI Vision One allows us to monitor attacks in real time, which is a significant benefit. We can quickly see where the attack is coming from. TrendAI Vision One enables us to use different products with a flexible license. For example, if a customer is using endpoint security and wants to switch to another solution, they can instantly use a different Trend Micro product, such as email. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce the time to detect and respond to different threats, as it can respond to attacks very quickly. With playbook templates, in cases of recurring attacks, responses can be made quickly using predefined playbooks. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce noise from false positives. There have been false positives before, but it was due to the customer not telling us which app they were using. Best practice configurations must be applied properly to avoid such issues. TrendAI Vision One helps customers consolidate the use of security vendors and reduce silos by offering one platform for all product management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution allows us to make investigations. Other XDR solutions also provide similar capabilities but for investigation, Cortex XDR is better."
"We have a complete overview of all our PCs and it's very easy to handle and to use the interface."
"Cortex XDR's most valuable feature is its intelligence-based dashboards."
"Based on my experience, I would recommend Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks to other people."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks saves time in various ways, although the user interface is fairly standard."
"It can automatically correlate events and logs, which is very helpful for an IT administrator. It can correlate different kinds of malware activities over a network, agent, or host system. You do not need to do it manually. It is a good feature. It is also a user-friendly solution. We have deployed it on the cloud because our space does not provide any flexibility for on-premises deployment, but Palo Alto has added some flexibility to install it on-premises. It must be like the same Cortex XDR agent for all the VPN services, web filtering services, and everything else."
"We can use Cortex XDR to get the entire graph of the incidents from source to destination, and we can take remedial action."
"Palo Alto is the best security solution in the market."
"It has prevented thousands of potential threats by encapsulating them within its own vSentry container, thus providing overall protection and integrity of the operating system."
"Bromium allows us to safely view images and quickly and safely surf our network so that we can take proper care of our patients efficiently, effectively, and expeditiously."
"It has reduced the number of virus and malware incidents and calls we have received compared to prior to deploying this product, and our overall security posture has improved."
"The isolation feature is the most important because it prevents attacks."
"Our overall security posture has absolutely improved as a result of adding Bromium to our security stack. We continue to have less user impact through a significantly reduced amount of malware infections. It's become a non-event."
"The feature that stands out the most is that when someone clicks on a link in an email... [if] that link is malicious and it has some malware or keylogger attached to it, when it opens up in that Bromium virtualized browser, there's no chance of it actually being on the machine and running, because as soon as they click that "X" in the upper right-hand side of the browser, everything just vanishes. That is an added plus."
"Now, instead of us having to go through that analysis, they actually give us a monthly report that shows us: "Here's what you got hit with, here's what would have happened, here are the forensics behind the attack," and, obviously, Bromium stopped it."
"Our overall security posture has absolutely improved as a result of adding Bromium to our security stack."
"I like that it is a comprehensive security solution with a lot of features; you can say XDR is an end-to-end security solution with endpoint security that includes all your servers, networks, and other devices, plus machine learning and similar advanced features."
"The best features TrendAI Vision One offers are the dashboard, reporting, and the customer service experience, specifically the customer service experience."
"I like Vision One's observed attack techniques feature. It lets you see what an attacker is doing, how they have tried to exploit a machine, or how malicious code is operating. It helps us discover indicators of compromise so we can write better rules for detection."
"I appreciate the value of real-time activity monitoring."
"Overall, I rate Trend Vision One a ten out of ten as I am extremely happy with Trend Micro's capabilities and their platform's strength."
"XDR provided a much more deep view into what is actually happening."
"One of the features I like in Trend Micro XDR is that you can drill down on the root-cause analysis for anything you find on the solution. I also like that it works for detection purposes. Behavior analytics is also what I like most about Trend Micro XDR. I love that it has features such as behavior detection, program detection, and memory scanning. By default, the solution protects against spyware, apart from the normal virus scan. Smart Scan and DLP are also available in Trend Micro XDR which I like as well."
"TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce the time to detect and respond to different threats, as it can respond to attacks very quickly."

Cons

"They are charging for Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA) services, so if the per GB data could be provided at a certain level free of cost or at the same cost which the customer is taking for the entire bundle, that would be better."
"Basically, they don't provide customer support tools just to investigate the logs."
"The product's pricing needs improvement. They could provide more discounts. Additionally, the dashboard and control panel could be enhanced."
"I don't like that they have different types of licenses. For example, if users select a license, they think they will have all the platforms they need to improve their network or security. But after some time, Palo Alto Networks changed their licensing, and some of the features that, for example, were free at the beginning now have a cost. I think the integration can be improved. For example, a lot of tools are just integrated through APIs."
"The onboarding process could be better."
"There are some false positives. What our guys would have liked is that it would have been easier to manipulate as soon as they found a false positive that they knew was a false positive. How to do so was not obvious. Some people complained about it. The interface, the ESM, is not user-friendly."
"We had a problem with getting our older endpoints up to date, but their newest updates have been really good."
"The configuration could be simplified. I would like to see better protection, specifically to protect email applications."
"When you deploy, not only is the user asked to reboot their computer, they are also asked to wait for 20 minutes while it sits there and initializes. It definitely impacts the end-user. It takes time away from their day."
"They need to improve the compatibility with other applications and its stability."
"Initial setup was complex. There were many configurations that needed to be worked out with the vendor. The setup required hands-on assistance from Bromium."
"Initially, when we came in contact with Bromium a few years ago, it had a nice threat analyst, or a LAVA Pop, which is what they used to call it. Once it detected malware, it would show us the malware's path... I don't see that on the computers now. We only get to see that in the console. I would like to still see that on the individual machines because when we go out to look at a machine, we don't necessarily have access to the console."
"Reporting is one of the shortcomings of the product. It becomes very difficult because you have to spend a lot of time digging through the volumes of data."
"Reporting is one of the shortcomings of the product. We do mine the data that's in there from a forensics perspective... It becomes very difficult because you have to spend a lot of time digging through the volumes of data. Reporting is absolutely the biggest shortcoming."
"I did not find this to be an out-of-the-box solution, it required planning and alignment across many groups."
"Room for improvement would be keeping up with the rate of change, specifically on Windows platforms. There are a lot of updates that come out for Microsoft Windows operating systems and the Bromium product needs to be able to keep up quickly with those updates and all the browser updates that are coming out. It's hard to do, but that's really where they need to be more responsive because we end up with problems and then we have to call support to get patches, etc."
"They need to stop changing Vision One once a week. They're in a hurry to change things so badly and so fast that I can't find where stuff is half the time, which is a challenge sometimes."
"While the continuous addition of features is commendable, the sheer volume of changes makes it difficult to stay abreast of the latest developments."
"Stability and reliability in TrendAI Vision One can be improved, but I would rate it as good, around a seven out of ten. I have faced issues, especially regarding stability, and while improvements have been made, I cannot say it is perfectly stable."
"When investigating alerts, users often have to navigate through multiple windows and tabs to gather all relevant information."
"The area where I think TrendAI Vision One can improve is the technical support."
"Vulnerability scanning could be improved. They need to see more CVEs and scan products for known vulnerabilities, allowing for better display and review of potentially exploitable servers by hackers or through configuration settings."
"The scalability of TrendAI Vision One would be around a six; it is appropriate for smaller companies, but for bigger ones such as Nike, I would say it would not fit as well."
"Email security sometimes may lead to some true positive attachments."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is an expensive solution."
"Cortex XDR’s pricing is very reasonable."
"It's about $55 per license on a yearly basis."
"Cortex XDR is a costly solution."
"The cost depends on your chosen license type, like Pro or other licenses."
"This is an expensive solution."
"It is "expensive" and flexible."
"Cortex XDR's pricing is ok."
"I think the pricing is a good value. All of these security products are always going to be very expensive, but I don't think Bromium is unreasonable. I think Bromium is decently priced. It’s a tiered licensing platform. The more you buy, the cheaper gets per unit, and I think their tiers are very well defined. I think they're fair."
"The product came as a bundle with the machine."
"The pricing is very fair compared to the competition. The licensing is straightforward."
"The product's pricing is a good value. We only run it on our internet-facing workstations, we don't run it on everything in our environment. We are very selective. Some organizations may want to consider doing something like that to reduce their license count."
"Pricing is reasonable."
"Competitors offer comparable solutions at slightly lower prices, so Vision One has room to reduce its pricing by 15 percent, given that Trend Vision One charges approximately $10 per endpoint."
"Vision One's pricing is extremely competitive. They're probably the lowest-cost provider that has this feature set."
"When I compare it to its peers that can do the same, it is cost-effective."
"The pricing is fair compared to other solutions."
"The price is reasonable. It's not exorbitant. CrowdStrike and other players are on the higher side."
"Trend Vision One is an expensive product."
"Trend Micro recently switched from a license-based pricing model to a credit system, which caused some initial frustration during my renewal."
"Trend Vision One offers a competitive price-to-value ratio."
