Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Hornet offers unlimited space and time for backups as long as the subscription is continued."
"It is very easy to integrate. You can do it very fast."
"It is a perfect, mature product."
"I would rate my experience with the initial setup an eight out of ten, with ten being easy."
"Generally speaking from my experience, this solution is very good, but it also has some room for improvement."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its integration with M365. Its GUI is intuitive and not bad. The granular recovery options for VMs have been useful, though not as crucial as Office 365 integration, which is why we use it. Granular recovery depends on the specific problems our customers face."
"I appreciate the feature of having a single tool for backup, replication, and secondary backup; with the same tool, the same job can be extended and configured to meet compliance requirements as per customer needs."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"We have backups for Microsoft 365 because it is in the account of the complete tenant compromise. If we lose access to a tenant or all of the client's data gets Microsoft 365, and they lose access to all of their emails, OneDrive, and Teams data, then at least we have an off-site copy that is not linked to their Microsoft side of things."

Cons

"The price might be limiting for some clients in Latin America."
"Veeam has a lot of costs that are not clear when you start it, which makes it less flexible than Altaro, but only after half a year, you can be really sure that you made a good decision."
"Its price could be improved."
"I found that Veeam Backup for Office 365 is not scalable."
"I have not really seen an ROI from Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365. On the customer side, we don't really see the ROI."
"This solution would be improved if our customers could simplify their graphic user interface and for it to be more user-friendly."
"You can't really edit. For example, if you have created a backup for a user, you can't drill down on a granular level during the backup. You have to back up the mailbox completely. That's it. It would be helpful if you could at least go inside the mailboxes to choose what you want."
"While Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is a highly convenient product, there is room for improvement in its integration with Microsoft 365."
"While there really is nothing wrong with the product some small improvements in the interface could make it even easier to use."
