Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Accessing multiple PCs from remote locations is easy and reliable with this solution
The solution works very well, I do not have any problem with it at all. The only problem is they have more than tripled their price in the last three years over what they used to charge. A price reduction would probably be warranted as I am not getting three times the service. My husband uses it too and he agrees that a price reduction would be the only thing he would be looking for. The vendor more than tripled the price in the last three years — so it has doubled and then doubled again. They have just kind of gone through the roof when it comes to pricing and I think that they are justifying that because of the demand.

Easy to install and has lots of resources but need to improve performance
It's a remote access solution. We use it for conferences, meetings, and communication.  It works just like other communications tools. It also integrates well with Office 365 and Outlook, et cetera. The performance is good.  It's got a lot of resources for users.  The product is easy to install.…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I would say the biggest benefit is the single-pane view. There's no jumping around multiple UI's to do your overall management."
"It has a useful device management feature."
"The device profiling which uses the official Outlook email enabled us to control the screenshot feature and prevent copying outside of the organization's application."
"It is a cloud-based service. It is easy to use and offers privacy."
"Intune provides full endpoint visibility and IT control across device platforms. You can individualize it for your company with the Intune Company Portal app."
"I have seen a return on investment right from the start of the tool's usage."
"The central administration con dashboard is very easy to use and provides very good oversight on all that needs to be monitored."
"Within Intune, managing policies and having a consistent way to manage devices is valuable."
"This solution has allowed us to have a highly flexible remote access solution in DR/BC situations."
"The installation is almost instant."
"The solution is very quick to set up."
"The technical support is good."
"I can do anything from a remote desktop as if I were sitting at my own PC."
"The solution is scalable."
"It is easy to use and has a pretty good UI."
"The best feature is the remote access and being able to control another person's computer when you're showing them something, or teaching them how to do something during training, or fixing a problem they're having."
"The most valuable feature of TeamViewer is user-friendliness."
"It's very easy to set up."
"The most valuable features of TeamViewer are the ability for administrators to lock the remote systems, simple connections, and easy login access."
"The product is easy to install."
"The TeamViewer system has some built-in security. The TeamViewer client connects to the TeamViewer host securely. Only a certain number of authorized users on our side have access to the system. Even within that, an individual endpoint can be assigned to a group, where not everybody has access but, rather, just one or two people who are part of a support team might have access to that particular device. So TeamViewer has given us tools to be able to segregate who has access to different things."

Cons

"Intune should improve its software inventory to provide better metering of which software is used throughout the company. This is especially needed for reporting third-party software solutions."
"It would be better if I could integrate it with my core group policy. I would like to have a group policy in my current environment, which has strict control, but those things are still missing. Although it has maximum compliance and security, it's not available on-premise."
"There are challenges with Intune, specifically in reporting. Many third-party companies offer single-pane-of-glass reporting that shows you what your update environment looks like, how your patch is doing, application status, etc., but Intune's reporting is not intuitive. You can connect to Azure, monitoring, and the workbooks, but it's not streamlined."
"Reporting needs to be better. Sometimes, it is way too slow, and it is not even accurate."
"Since GMS is unavailable in China, we currently rely on device administrator enrollment for managing Android devices there."
"Improvements can be made by allowing server integrations since it is an area where the product currently has shortcomings."
"Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect."
"It would be better if they can reduce the cost of the license."
"The pricing has tripled in a small amount of time and there is not three times better service."
"If the PC is hung then it requires a reboot."
"Integration could be improved. I'd prefer if the solution could integrate with our support and report tools as well as our timesheet reporting."
"I didn't like the fact that you had to install a client for remote support. If you didn't install the client, you were very limited in terms of what you could do. For a whole enterprise, it is just not an easy task to install a client on everything. Even if you're using SCCM, it is an undertaking. For transient clients that you don't necessarily support a hundred percent of the time, it would be nice to be able to connect to them and support their issues without having to install something on their machines. In my previous company, we were looking at this solution as being a collaborative tool for the enterprise in terms of video conferencing, calling, and scheduling. They were working on bringing a bunch of products together to make their suite a little more integrated, but it really wasn't at the point where we wanted it to be in terms of integration. We looked at it, reviewed it, and tested it out a bit. We then decided to go with Microsoft Teams. It has the clunkiness of having separate modules that aren't totally integrated. There are different methods for doing different things, which makes it a little bit more complicated. There should be the same way whether you are doing remote support or just calls."
"I have noticed that when I access another person's computer, sometimes the tab is visible, and sometimes it is not, which can be difficult."
"Support for mobile devices from Linux has been missing since the Native client was rolled out. This was a nice option, especially when trying to walk somebody who was struggling to understand something on their phone."
"One thing I have noticed is that TeamViewer does not work so well when the machine you are trying to connect to remotely is not running the same version as your machine."
"Sometimes, the app can be a little cumbersome when accessing certain aspects of the program."
"It becomes complicated to switch from one monitor to another for different windows."
"If were to I put myself in the seat of a small business owner, I would prefer TeamViewer to be more of a pay-once-and-own-it solution, rather than paying via a subscription model (although I am using the free version). Only annual subscriptions are available. It makes paying for it the first time seem a little daunting."
"TeamViewer could improve by adding support for other operating systems, such as Linux and CAKE."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I have no comment on pricing of the solution."
"The product is expensive."
"If you're subscribing to Premium or E3, there are no additional costs for Intune, it's included."
"There is a license needed to use the solution and we are on an annual license."
"Microsoft licenses are costly."
"The tool is cheaper than our company's other MDM tools."
"The pricing is competitive, but it is not cheap."
"Intune's pricing is reasonable considering its benefits and the high costs it helps avoid."
"We pay approximately 2,000 Euros a year for the solution. The licensing is all-inclusive; you don't have to pay for extra add-ons or services."
"It was cheap and now it is comparably expensive. It costs me $484 to use the solution with just two physical PCs."
"There is a free and paid version of this solution. I am currently using the free version."
"I am using the free version of TeamViewer. There is a subscription fee to use the premium features."
"The price was cheaper than what we were previously paying. At the time that we went with TeamViewer, we were using ShareConnect. The TeamViewer package was about half the cost and able to have a bigger number of users."
"We have a corporate license. The maximum amount number of users changes based on the amount you pay. E.g., with our license, there is a maximum amount of users who can use the solution at the same time (10 users)."
"The version of the solution we are using is free."
"TeamViewer is very pricey. You have to sign up for a yearly subscription."
"We are not using the solution for commercial use therefore it is free to use."
"TeamViewer has multiple licensing options."
