Scalable platform with intuitive features for detecting malicious files
The initial setup process is straightforward. We have to install the agent, create a package, and deploy it on servers. It has a prebuilt console managed by the cloud team of Cybereason. We don't have to worry about the console and concentrate on endpoint implementation. It takes ten days to deploy it on 10,000 devices.

Efficient integration and log monitoring enhances security operations
The central management needs improvement. The ease of use for updating and managing through the web console is difficult and lacks features. Integration with Mobile Device Management ( /categories/mobile-device-management-mdm ) is not good, and controlling client update times can become problematic. If there is a network issue during an update, it can create junk files on the system, filling up disk space.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"For me, the technical support is good."
"Immediately we can pick up the computers in the network if any malicious operation that is triggered."
"I haven't had any issues with the solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"What I like most about Cybereason Endpoint Detection & Response is the support because the support is good. The solution is also easy to use, and it has a dashboard. Everything is good, and there's no problem with it."
"What I find most valuable is the clarity of the platform."
"It gives all the information in a clear response."
"Cybereason absolutely enables us to mitigate and isolate on the fly. Our managed detection response telemetry has dropped dramatically since we began using it. It's very top-of-mind. We were running some tabletop exercises and none of the detections were getting triggered by the managed security services provider. So we needed to find a solution that would trigger high-fidelity alerts. That was Cybereason and it dramatically changed our landscape from the detection and response perspective."
"The initial setup is not overly complicated."
"The most advantageous aspect is tracking and taking action automatically."
"What we like most about Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is its prompt response. We also like that it does scans on a daily basis, over every laptop or machine we set it for, and it also generates the report daily."
"The encryption feature that allows you complete control of your device is what I found most valuable in Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is effective, especially in isolating computers from the network when needed."
"The initial setup was easy."
"EDR Optimum's best features are its dashboard, control of external media, and user-friendliness."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum have met our requirements."
"The solution is easy to use."

Cons

"They need to improve their technical support services."
"I feel that the product lacks reporting features and needs improvement."
"I feel it is a shame that I cannot create groups of groups with inheritance."
"The integration with Microsoft solutions and Microsoft capabilities needs to be improved."
"The deployment on individual endpoints is more geared toward larger organizations. It might prove to be a bit too complicated for a smaller organization. You need to know what you're doing when you're deploying the sensor."
"Its Microsoft PowerShell protections still need some compatibility improvements. We have run across just a few. It is compatible with 90% of what we have in our network, but there is that 10% that we are still struggling with as far as compatibility with the type of PowerShell scripts needed to run our day-to-day business."
"Reporting could be a bit more granular so that we had the ability to check regions and countries. I just noticed that, for instance, if I look at our servers, it's either "contained" or it's "not contained". I don't have the option, for instance, to look at countries. It only allows me to look at users as one big group."
"Ad hoc higher-level reporting to senior management can be improved or can be implemented. That's definitely an area of improvement that they need to focus on."
"The application should be made a bit lighter so that it does not slow down the PC."
"The solution needs to give more control to users on firewalls."
"In terms of the Pakistani market and talking from a salesperson's perspective, I'd suggest that Kaspersky introduce a bundle of Kaspersky EDR-Optimum or Kaspersky EDR-Expert along with its Business Select/Advance suite."
"They should provide more notifications for incidents and more clarification or information about malicious activity."
"The technology grows day by day, so we need to check for updates and do the updates daily. Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is still improving over time and quality-wise, there are still things that need to be changed in the product, so that's why I rated it nine out of ten. Compatibility could also be improved in the product."
"Scalability depends on various factors."
"The initial setup is a bit difficult."
"We have had some issues updating Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This product is somewhat expensive and should be cheaper."
"In terms of cost, this is a good choice for our needs."
"In terms of pricing, it's a good solution."
"I do not have experience with the licensing of the product."
"The pricing is manageable."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the pricing an eight."
"We considered a few other solutions. Some were ridiculously overpriced, while others didn't have solutions for Mac endpoints. That was a deal-breaker because most of our organization is on Mac. It came down to two vendors: Cybereason and another. They had similar pitches and almost identical approaches, but in the end, Cybereason gave us the best value for our money."
"Though it is not the cheapest solution but it fits our budget. We pay an annual licensing fee."
"Kaspersky gives a consolidated price with a good solution. If we choose something else, we need to add other options on our own."
"The pricing is totally reasonable."
"The tool’s pricing is yearly. The solution’s pricing is expensive."
"The solution could be made a bit cheaper."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is more affordable than the endpoint security product of Fortinet. Whether it's worth the money depends on your security strategy."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Optimum is affordability, even for companies with limited budgets, such as those in the Pakistani market. It is a subscription-based license."
"The price of the solution is reasonable. It cost approximately €10,000 annually."
"The price is good, not too high."
