Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Has delivered consistent desktop experiences across remote locations and has supported multimedia workloads efficiently
I have utilized the HDX protocol for compression and audio-video capabilities. When users need to conduct meetings with customers or colleagues, they can use Teams solutions and open a bridge where video and audio are encapsulated within the ICA protocol, which is protected by SSL and certificates for security. This provides secure communication at good quality through the HDX protocol. HDX protocol has improved application performance as it is specifically designed for multimedia applications. If processing audio or video files, such as in telecom where discussions are recorded and then prepared as video or audio, this does not consume excessive bandwidth during the operation compared to a normal remote desktop connection provided by Microsoft. Everything is compressed and provides sufficient bandwidth for multiple people to perform similar tasks without interruption or session disconnection. All multimedia-related activities, such as playing content on YouTube, deliver a better experience with this protocol overall. I use multi-factor authentication for opening sessions to the data center where users access their machines or software. Multi-factor authentication has helped secure applications because users typically have two-way authentication software on their phones. They use a password first and then authenticate themselves through their mobile application to grant access to resources. This approach is effective because if a hacker attacks a user, they need more than just the password and username. They must also possess the device that provides authentication. The device typically has facial recognition, a password, and provides better security overall.

Good tech support
The location markings can appear incorrectly. If the customer shows his location on camera, on our machinery, but then moves it to another location and, subsequently, back to the original one, the location markings will appear incorrectly. We are talking about the augmented reality features. While I recommend the solution, the customer may face difficulties with screen sharing, such as occurs with our customers when it comes to working in an infrastructured area like a factory. We regularly get confused, as we also provide remote technical support. The initial setup is complex.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft Intune scales very effectively with our growing needs."
"The thing I appreciate most about Microsoft Intune is that the management of the devices was very simplified. We have all machines connected to it at all times, whether they are in the office or working from home."
"It works well if you have a Microsoft environment."
"Its price is reasonable. It is a part of our M365 suite."
"There are many features in Microsoft Intune. For personal mobile devices, MDM is what I most prefer."
"Based on my experience, I find Intune very flexible for managing Windows devices. We can use scripting, and we can make use of the self-service portal or the company portal to publish some of the applications for Windows."
"Intune makes our organization more secure and flexible. We can onboard new employees faster and more securely. We are a governmental organization with strict regulations, and Intune helps us comply with those requirements."
"Implementing Microsoft Intune has provided a more streamlined and consistent method for device management across our multiple domains, effectively consolidating our administrative efforts."
"It has the best remote working features."
"Citrix DaaS (formerly Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service) is highly recommended due to its ability to flawlessly handle 100% of the apps it packages, compared to App-V, which struggled with 20% to 30% of apps."
"The architecture I built had a robust failover mechanism for the endpoints, and the interface was user-friendly."
"The remote desktop feature allows employees to work from home."
"Stable product with straightforward setup."
"First of all, the manageability of the applications for publishing is valuable. Second, it is about being able to run the applications on all main platforms. Third, its licensing is valuable. You can either switch to the cloud and keep on-prem. You can work with this hybrid scenario."
"The scalability is fine. We have about 400 users, who are supported by six staff members. We use the product company-wide throughout 40 different locations, and we currently do not have plans to increase the scale of use."
"The most valuable feature of Citrix Workspace is the virtual desktop that we can use anywhere, at any time, and without taking our laptop."
"It's easy enough to use."
"Technical support has good responsiveness."

Cons

"I would like to see Intune improve its handling of hybrid domain joins."
"They need to integrate more with security options."
"We are currently unable to control aspects of group policy from Teams like we can for GPO. They are still not part of Intune. Microsoft is adding this, but it's currently in preview, and few GPO features have been added to the product."
"There should be more focus on mobile device security and integration."
"One drawback of Intune is that we cannot find devices based on a user's region or location."
"Intune should improve the management of non-Microsoft devices. It would be better to manage Mac, Android, and other non-Microsoft operating system devices within the same Intune interface."
"We only have major classifications for iOS and Android, but there are different brands that have different cycles of updates. If they can fine-tune it to make it more brand-specific, that would be even better."
"Intune's privilege management feature, while beneficial, is less intuitive than other Intune features, making it challenging to use."
"We're running into all kinds of speed issues and reliability issues. There are frequent disconnects, and we're not sure whether that's a problem with the product, with the way the product has been deployed, or with server capacity or bandwidth. Our IT department pays attention to that, but we are feeling the impact of that."
"It would be great if they included VPN features and improved connectivity."
"The product’s customization feature needs improvement."
"The product should expand its capabilities for integrating with other environments."
"The product has some bugs, making it an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Pricing and technical support need improvement."
"There are many latency and slowness issues, which are things looked after by Citrix."
"The video conferencing feature needs to be improved."
"The location markings can appear incorrectly."
"It's quite power-hungry and some customers complain that it drains the batteries on their smartphones very quickly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"For organizations that are a Microsoft shop, the pricing is compelling."
"Consider the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite rather than choosing specific sub-components, e.g. only Microsoft Intune."
"The product is relatively pricey, but considering its benefits, I'd say it's fair. The benefits outweigh the expensive licensing fees, especially for large organizations, but medium-sized and smaller businesses may be unable to afford it."
"Previously the price was $4 per month per user. Now it's $2.25 per user per month."
"I am not that aware of the pricing, but as compared to other MDM solutions, Microsoft is providing a lot of things at the organizational level. So, it is quite reasonable as compared to other MDM solutions."
"Cost is not my department, but the product is included in the E5 license that we already pay for every user, so no additional cost is incurred."
"I have no comment on pricing of the solution."
"The product is offered as part of a Microsoft standard bundle. The pricing can be competitive to Airwatch, and Maas360."
"My company opts for the yearly subscription model to pay towards the licensing costs attached to the solution."
"The solution is affordable."
"The licensing, in general, is expensive. A lot of customers battle to pay the amount. It's very difficult to ensure that your solution provides the business value that the customer is after."
"The Citrix licensing scheme is really straightforward and simple. It doesn't have hidden costs. You get what you pay for. It is easy to understand what is on the product, so it's simple to get a clear idea of how much it costs. Licensing is not an issue."
"The licenses are affordable, but the support is a bit expensive, though worth the value."
"The Citrix license model has changed. It costs around $240 per user for a single username, but a concurrent license costs double."
"The solution is expensive and I give the cost a four out of ten."
"It is quite expensive, but so are the competitors on the market."
"It is not an expensive product."
"We pay for the licensing monthly."
