We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like that it offers full device capability.""The most valuable feature of BrowserStack is the ability to do manual testing.""The main core concept behind this product is, it takes the overhead of maintaining all of your devices or particular computers. It continuously adds the latest devices that are coming into the market.""BrowserStack has lots of devices to choose from.""I have found that BrowserStack is stable.""It just added some flexibility. There was nothing that improved our coding standards, etc. because all of our UIs were functional before we tried it.""It's helpful for me to test on different devices.""The integration is very good."

"Everything is happening on the layout or display that is used by the user. Eggplant prompts processes, like 'click here,' or 'look for this image.' Eggplant makes it possible for QA people and BAs, working in the actual display, to check if the software is providing the right images, the right text, and the right results. They don't have to go inside the code or to the TCP/IP layer. Everything is happening at the highest level.""The most valuable features of Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence are bug hunting and OCR technology.""It is easy to set up.""DAI's newest release allows us to test via scripts rather than models, because we have done 95 percent of our development in functional, not through modeling. I am really happy that then we can use the controller to run scripts rather than having to translate things to models. There are lots of options.""The features that we like the most are the developer interface and the ability to quickly develop and deploy tests.""Its scalability is good. It is useful for desktop applications, and it also uses OCR and does image recognition."

Cons
"While I was testing I was not 100% sure a that was properly mimicking the browsers or not. We had some issues with a browser, and the reason was the browser itself does not provide any support. If the local system does not provide any support, I think this was the problem. There should be better integration with other solutions, such as JIRA.""Sometimes BrowserStack is really slow and devices are not loading. it is really annoying and that's why we bought several newer devices because sometimes it's affecting us a lot.""The solution is slow.""If you are inactive for 30 minutes, the solution will close.""Customer support could be better. We tried to implement and explore this product with the vendor or reseller's help, but we haven't had any good response about the product.""BrowserStack is scalable, but cost is significant for those living in Mexico.""BrowserStack operates at a slow pace, it could improve by making it faster.""Adding better integration with frameworks, particularly testing frameworks like Robot, would be of more value to customers and make their jobs easier."

More BrowserStack Cons →

"Its performance and stability could be better.""If one area could be improved, it would be some of their documentation. In particular, some of their online help and user support documentation is a little bit out of date and could be revised and updated on a more frequent basis. Other than that, I haven't really found any issues or problems.""The language is too specific; it is just for Eggplant.""I would like to see standardized actions already built into Eggplant. For example, "wait eight seconds". That way, I wouldn't need to create it as an action. Right now, I have to program that wait and describe it as an action so that everybody knows it is an action that waits eight seconds... That way, somebody who is not familiar with programming processes like "if-else", or "for", or "while", would be able, from the first moment, and without programming, to put some easy-to-use, standardized, actions in place.""Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence could improve by lowering the price.""The IDE could be even more full-featured. Because I was a developer, I was very spoiled by either Visual Studio Code or Visual Studio for shortcuts. For example, I was able to say "ctor" and hit Tab and it would create a template of a constructor for me... It would be great, when I want to create a new function, if there were shortcut commands like those that helped create all of the functions, or if there were shortcut features to do any of the complex plans."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The price is fine."
  • "There are different licenses available that can be customized. You can select the features that you want only to use which can be a cost-benefit."
  • "BrowserStack could have a better price, but good things have a price."
  • "The price of BrowserStack is high."
  • More BrowserStack Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Make a smart decision about the number of developer- and execution-only licenses you purchase to maximize your budget. We found that going heavier on execution-only licenses has been a way to reduce our costs and maximize our ability to benefit from the software."
  • "End-to-end testing isn't possible for us because of the licensing problems. It's very expensive, so we only have two development/execution licenses."
  • "It probably has a yearly license."
  • "This solution is expensive when compared to the market. However, the reason it is more expensive is because of its stability, high performance, and for its support of any technology."

    Overview
BrowserStack is a cloud-based cross-browser testing tool that enables developers to test their websites across various browserson different operating systems and mobile devices, without requiring users to install virtual machines, devices or emulators.

Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence is a powerful and easy-to-use solution that gives users the ability to create and test any type of application. There is no type of technology that it cannot be used to test.

Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence gives users the power to create products that will best meet the wants and needs of the end user. The solution’s artificial intelligence and machine learning features give users the ability to predict how a new application will impact the audience that receives it. Ultimately, it ensures that the product that is being tested will best meet the requirements of those for whom it is being created.

Benefits of Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence

Some of the benefits of using Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence include:

    • Insight into the mindset of end users. Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence tracks users as they use applications or websites. It then employs machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms that figure out the most pressing needs of those who will use the applications that are being created. Users can set these needs into the system and automate the creation and execution of application tests.
    • Simplification of complex processes. Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence’s single unified user interface makes it easier for users to initiate processes by enabling them to initiate all actions from a single location. Setting up and initiating a process does not require any prior knowledge of coding.

    Reviews from Real Users

Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence is an automated application testing and debugging tool that stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are the way that it enables users to test applications and the way that it enables users who are not necessarily involved in coding tests to understand the testing processes. There is a large selection of tests that can be used to assess many different aspects of the applications that are being created. Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence also makes it easy for users to follow the testing that their applications are subjected to.

PeerSpot user Jon G., a quality assurance analyst at a transportation company, writes, “What I'm also really happy about - and perhaps this isn't technically about functional testing, but it's related to it - is that DAI's newest release allows us to test via scripts rather than models. This is because we have done 95 percent of our development via functional testing and not through modeling. I am really happy that then we can use the controller to run scripts rather than having to translate things to models. There are lots of options. We are testing many mobile applications through Android Gateway, and that seems to be working great. We have not had any problems with web apps or Windows applications. We are running several scrum lines, and we've just implemented QA and, therefore, QA is important. What we're trying to do is get the ongoing suite of tests that look at things currently, and then it will be a built-on regression suite as we keep going and keep adding more and more tests. We want to improve quality before handing it off to our customers. If we have mainframe stuff, it's nothing that I've had to test or deal with.”

A business analyst at a computer software company writes, “The digital twin tool is perfect for combining the non-technical and technical sides. Someone who is not actually in the code can understand the processes that are presented by the digital twin tool. I was introduced to it with a short introduction of about one and a half hours, and I was very surprised to see something like that because I had only been working with Eggplant programming and coding. With the digital twin tool I can program something and visualize it within a module, within a process. For us, an example of such a use case is creating a new patient.”
