Strong integration and synchronization capabilities with saving time
Boomi AtomSphere Master Data Hub is a real integration tool that offers powerful and helpful features. It has data synchronization capabilities, and I have noted that it provides a benefit for all my integration needs. Additionally, there are notable benefits in terms of time savings, money savings, and resource savings for me.

Centralized master data has improved data quality but now requires a clearer future roadmap
An area where Microsoft MDS can be improved is that Microsoft has announced Microsoft MDS is being removed from SQL Server two thousand twenty-five. The future of the product is genuinely uncertain, and that's something any organization evaluating it needs to factor in seriously. Microsoft MDS is still supported on SQL Server two thousand twenty-two and earlier, but the trajectory is clear that Microsoft is not investing in Microsoft MDS going forward. I would also say that the cloud story is a gap because there's no native cloud version of Microsoft MDS. For clients who are moving workloads to Azure, that's an increasingly awkward conversation. Microsoft's direction for MDM in the cloud is through other capabilities like Azure Purview and Dataverse, but those are different products with different feature sets.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is that it's very easy to develop the processes and we have been using it for a long time. At that time, no other tool was available, and it was the best product. When we first got it, I don't think it was a Dell product back then. We upgraded to the cloud last year. Today, it's still the best because it's very user-friendly, and the user interface is also very user-friendly. We can easily develop the processes quickly."
"Being at the center of the various data silos within customer systems provides an easy way to implement a scalable and secure master data management hub as a service."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is that it seems to be more of a drag and drop interface."
"The data migration worked for us and serves the purpose that we need."
"The most valuable features of Boomi AtomSphere Master Data Hub are the ability to do data integrations, APM Management, MDM, and data catalog."
"Boomi AtomSphere Master Data Hub offers features like unified data models, data security, and compliance, and we have tested data models that enable us to train LLM models for specific use cases."
"We use the administrator to create different interfaces. We developed APIs for specific applications like data validation between systems. We have our own product and base it on the Boomi interfaces that generate this type of data validation."
"Boomi AtomSphere Master Data Hub is a real integration tool that offers powerful and helpful features, with data synchronization capabilities that provide benefits for all my integration needs along with notable time, money, and resource savings."
"It is very easy to deploy and provision a machine."
"The tool is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft MDS is its compatibility with ETL tools like SSIS, which simplifies operations for end-users."
"One of the main features I have found useful is the integration with Azure active directory."
"Technical support is very good."
"The pricing of this solution is good."
"I like the ease of deployment, as it is very easy to deploy and provision a machine, and I like the analytics and that I can run them, which makes it easier to do analytics compared to our previous tools, while Microsoft BI is quite good."
"It has been a long-standing tool in our organization since it was free."

Cons

"Boomi AtomSphere Master Data Hub could improve by having a ChatGPT AI tool to solve problems and develop quicker."
"We have problems in some scenarios where there are messages in the queue and would require some support."
"The reporting needs to be improved to help get more KPIs in the longterm. Now, the system keeps only three months."
"The price could be better. It would also be better if they stopped changing the icons every six months. Whenever they change it, users have to adapt to them again."
"There could be improvements in integrating more features with Microsoft Azure."
"The only drawback is that it does not have the matching, merging, and all true MDM components. For these, you have to use another competent called Data Quality Services (DQS). You need to plug it in and use it along with MDS for true MDM. Both of these are integrated together, but you have to do them separately, whereas, in Profisee, there are a couple of screens where you can configure the matching process, create matching rules, and other things, and everything is in one product, which is not the case with MDS. In order to implement a true MDM, you need MDS, DQS, and SSIS. You have to use MDS to store your golden records, DQS to configure and standardize all your rules and matching percentages, and SSIS to load the data to DQS and MDS. At the same time, you also need Melissa Data to clean up your addresses to validate and standardize the addresses. That's the main component of true MDM. It would be good if they can create a true matching component inside MDS and merge MDS and DQS."
"The price of the program has gone up, so I would like to see better pricing."
"Most of the Microsoft partners, especially digitally, are separate. Personnel are business people, and they do not have technical expertise, so you end up as a company spending a lot of money training your staff and your engineers."
"If Microsoft MDS were part of Azure, it would be significantly more helpful."
"Microsoft MDS is outdated and lacks modern capabilities."
"If one system has reached capacity or has stopped, then the whole system stops and it is quite difficult to solve the problem."
"The version that I work with is on-premises and it required an additional virtual machine on the cloud. It would be a better option to have an on-cloud version."
"The program's navigation tools could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price could be better. In the current market, it's expensive but worth it."
"We have a monthly subscription, which is $550 per month."
"MDS is a part of the SQL Server enterprise license. I am not aware of any additional costs."
"The pricing of this solution is good."
"I would like to see better pricing."
"Product licensing is very complicated. It would be helpful to have an online calculator to estimate the cost of a license."
"Microsoft MDS is an expensive solution."
"SAP is more expensive than Microsoft."
"With Microsoft, we buy everything though an agreement, so we purchase volume licensing every year."
"The solution does require a license and we have enterprise licenses."
