Offers flexibility in design and saves time in budgeting and forecasting processes
I find Board to be simple and easy to use. It offers significant flexibility in designing solutions. The system overall is very useful, with many capabilities that provide flexibility. Our budgeting and forecasting processes support around three hundred twenty users who would otherwise rely on Excel, making Board invaluable for saving time.

You can use the process mapping module to build processes that can be converted into SOPs. Licensing is unreasonable.
The process-mapping module helped the BPR team in creating detailed process maps quickly. The process converter tool helped the team establish baseline SOPs that can be taken further to implement comprehensive documentation that serves the departments’ needs. The content management part helped in sharing the processes safely with the rest of the organization.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We are currently implementing Board Financial Consolidation package with Board consultants with optimum results in terms of time and comprehension of the product."
"The ability to do write back and visualization, with minimal IT development orientation."
"BOARD has allowed us to provide to clients a tool which allows them to see the state of their entire holdings managed by us."
"It allows people to quickly create dashboards with reports."
"It has helped us manage our workflow."
"Without actually programming, you can develop a workflow and solutions for a lot of things."
"My favourite feature of BOARD is the ability to write back to the OLAP DB, as well as the Rdb, and secure user data allowing databases to be flushed and rebuilt daily."
"If you want to streamline your business and reduce hourly time using the creation of spreadsheets or other financial reports that they should go for BOARD because it drastically reduces time."
"The new QPR Suite 2014 including QPR EnterpriseArchitect, QPR ProcessDesigner, QPR Metrics and QPR ProcessAnalyzer delivers the right capabilities for business management and enterprise architects to support operational development and business transformation cases."
"The product has so many features, but it has some unique ones that most of the similar products do not have."
"The process mapping module is highly user friendly and allows users to quickly build processes with thorough details that can be converted into comprehensive end-to-end SOPs."

Cons

"What could be better is the manual... nowadays, most people use a web client, but on the Board manual website, a lot of the information is only about the Windows client. If they could update that, it would be helpful."
"It can have more functionality for narrative reporting. They should also improve their training courses, which are currently very lightweight. When you get into more complex things, it is quite difficult to figure out what you're supposed to do, and you have to look at a lot of videos before you actually understand, which is a bit frustrating. Their training can be more comprehensive."
"We would like to see better logging in the procedural world."
"It would be huge in the future if BOARD offered a lot more graphs and presentations, and it was a lot easier to use."
"The Windows client is a different story. It's not scalable at all, so we decided to go with the Web."
"The engine of the Board should be made powerful like the engine of IBM planning which is more powerful in terms of performance. The consolidated finance area also needs improvement."
"It needs more export to Excel functionality. Right now, we're having to build within the cloud-based platform, as well as build within the Excel add-in, because the export to Excel is somewhat ugly."
"More export to Excel functionality. Right now, we're having to build within the cloud-based platform, as well as build within the Excel add-in, because the export to Excel is somewhat ugly."
"There should be an easier way of reporting, or producing, reports in MS Office."
"The QPR content management module is highly complex and difficult to use."
"Mobile features need to be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's price is a bit high compared to other solutions."
"In terms of the pricing, it was reasonable. BOARD is not the lowest in the market, but it was reasonable for us."
"Find a partner who will take responsibility for the implementation, and be available for support."
"The solution is quite expensive, if it is made cheaper then we can have more clients. I rate it four out of ten."
"It is not the cheapest product on earth, but you get so much. It provides good value for money."
