A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has allowed us to have a central system for handling security profiles for all users on different target systems e.g. Oracle, Unix, and Active Directory."
"Security is the solution's most valuable feature."
"We are able to rotate privileged user passwords to eliminate fraudulent use."
"The most valuable feature I find in CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is that we can record the sessions. It provides flexible workflows. I can change the workflow to specify if it needs one approval or two approvals, and I can approve my peer."
"It takes away all ambiguity around "known" admin accounts."
"CyberArk has allowed us to get the credentials and passwords out of hard-coded property files."
"The most valuable feature of this product is the Central Policy Manager, as from the operation and security point of view a robot that can connect to destination machines, change passwords at fixed times, and put them in the vault, like a person, is the best that you can ask for because it combines more functionality in a single product and solves a lot of problems, from security to compliance."
"Comparing it to other providers, Cyberark provides a more user-friendly environment with many more features and benefits."
"As an end-user within the organization, I can't and I don't need to know the passwords of privileged accounts as CyberArk is taking care of the password/SSH Keys management on the target machines."

Cons

"This product launches a request to add or remove accesses on different target systems but it doesn't check that the access granted was previously requested."
"As they grow, the technical support is having growing pains. One of the things is just being able to get somebody on the phone sometimes."
"Regarding technical support from CyberArk, while L2 and L3 teams are effective, L1 support requires improvement due to longer response times in critical situations."
"I would like to see improvement in the custom connector for integration with different devices."
"The greatest area of improvement is with the user interface of the Password Vault Web Access component."
"For users to access a system via CyberArk Privileged Session Manager, a universal connector needs to be coded in a language called AutoIT and its support for web browsers is so-so. Other products like Centrify have browser plugins that can help automate the process when using their products."
"There is a little bit of confusion in the implementation part, especially when one tries to understand the actual working of the product."
"I find it hard to mention a point of improvement because I'm happy with the platform. The only thing I would say is that they can improve their price."
"I would like easier integrations for creating an online dashboard that executives would look at or are able to run reports from the tool."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Although CyberArk Privileged Access Management is expensive, its protection capabilities outweigh the cost."
"I do not have any opinions to add about the pricing of the product."
"CyberArk Enterprise Password Vault is a very expensive product."
"They have two types of licensing: purchase and subscription. You have to pay for each admin user, such as Microsoft admin, mail admin, database admin, etc."
"The price of this solution is quite reasonable."
"Licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"With reducing the privileged account access, there has been a huge improvement. They are now bringing more accounts on a little at a time."
"The solution is available at a high price"
