We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I consider the verification station very useful because it allows you to quickly check if the data extracted are correct or if you need to change the process.""By using this, we are saving time and we no need to do routine work, as it is now automated and the result is shared with all of the end-users.""Bot Runner - The Bot Runner is the machine where you run the bot. You could have multiple bots running in parallel. You only need the Run License to run the bots. The bots report back the execution logs/pass/fail status back to the control room.""Just for this use case, we had around 300 tickets coming in every month. We went live last month and the tickets went down to around 80 as of August 20th. While it might touch around 100, over a period of around six months it will become zero because we have not removed all the legacy data. We are just doing it from the go date of when we went live. The target is that it will be zero after three months. So, it's working well.""Even as we were getting into RPA for the first time, I found it easy to understand this tool.""It lets users add value with their time other than focusing on downloading Excel files, consolidating, and drawing up formulas. Since everything is structured, these easily are incorporated into the bot's work.""It is also easy to design and implement, even for business users who don't have technical skills. A little bit of training is required, about five to seven days, and then they can start. The learning curve is low.""It save us time and provides ROI as a monetary benefit because it reduces FTE, the number of headcount working for a particular project."

"The standout features of SAP Intelligent RPA are its flexibility and integration capabilities.""It is remarkably easy to configure and code, and it doesn't require an extensive technical background or coding expertise.""Contextor is a good solution for a Citrix environment. It's the first with this tool. Other tools provide the same functionality, but not with the Citrix environment.""Most of the details are already in the help portal and SAP notes are available. It is well documented as part of the product support.""Scalability is fine. It is pretty nice.""The initial setup of SAP Contextor is easy.""The most valuable feature of SAP Contextor is that everyone is in one place in the program that I need."

Cons
"The areas that need improvement are the license management, user access permission, user role access management, and technical support.""We did use quite a bit of Citrix automation. Of course, AI Sense helps you through that. There are two big challenges that I can think of with Citrix automation. Your making multiple hops into end-to-end systems. As you are rating the screen, which is a screen within a screen, which is what Citrix automation is, the complexity increases. That is where the two things will come in: the tool's functionality and the beauty of design. These two have to come in together to make it work. If you don't have one or the other, it's not going to work.""They should do more on the cognitive side. If they can keep adding more features, that would be their greatest advantage.""I would like for AA to add an inbuilt debug log that has functionalities to view the values of variables during run time in order to have a point-to-point debugging in case of an error.""We tried Citrix six months ago, but the solution that they gave us did not work in our environment.""I would like to see web and cloud-based platforms for future releases.""The technical support has been a little slow to respond to our inquiries.""The interface is not intuitive for business users who are used to seeing the process on a flow chart, like a Visio workflow diagram. This may be because of the nature of the way the interface is structured and the way the functions are built in list type of format."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"There should be more of an error, like a proper error feature, in future releases. Sometimes, we don't understand why that automation is not learning what, like, where it is stuck, or what is the reason like, or what is the criteria we are missing to add. So a proper error message would be helpful.""The initial setup is of medium complexity. It is neither too hard nor too simple. You need some background in SAP and an understanding of it.""For potential features or improvements, one aspect I would suggest enhancing is the flexibility of the extraction process.""I would like to see a better capacity for unstructured data, for example, PDF, or text within images.""I found that the SAP scripting of a program is easier than SAP Contextor.""One way SAP Intelligent RPA could improve is by integrating built-in DI services for document processing.""SAP Contextor could improve by automating some processes."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

  • "This is not a tool or software with a license as others are. The SaaS model is based on the usage of the tool."
  • "The initial cost might seem higher, but over time, with continued use over five or ten years, the cost tends to decrease, making it a more economical choice."
  • "The pricing is not that expensive. It is manageable."
  • "It all comes with a bundle right now. Having advanced features, it is competitively priced."
