I like the capabilities for scanning the spectrums in portions instead of filling the whole screen
Wireless scanning, mapping, and troubleshooting. Spectrum XT continues to help with interference issues in the factory environment. Having multiple systems factory/IR/RF/Microwave and LMR is challenging to keep everything working together I've been able to diagnose trouble areas in the factory…

Monitoring has become centralized and management now sees real‑time health of key network assets
The time investment required is significant, not because of difficulty but because of the need for free time to invest in it. We need to get the knowledge. We know there are many options, but we took an external vendor to install and make the customization. If we want to make others changes without paying for customization, we need to learn it deeply by ourselves. The tutorials are very complicated. They could work on that area. The tutorial part could be more simplified. I know there are many explanations, and you can get help or documents in one click on the current page in the product, but it is not very clear. If you want to do something new that you did not see from the vendor in the installation, it is not very simple. The documents are good for people that know how to operate the product well, but for new users, it is not simple.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If you're having multiple issues, I'd recommend this to people, and in the long run, it's worth the cost not having to wait for a vendor to make it out during an outage or intermittent time of issues."
"I think two of the products that we use in the suite are really, really, really solid."
"I can determine precise placement of APs to satisfy customers’ needs for data, voice, or location."
"It allows us to manage alerts, schedule downtime and maintenance, as well as triage documentation for our support teams."
"Spectrum is designed for large infrastructures, anything less than 4000 devices and it is probably a waste of money"
"The stability is very good - the best we've seen in the market."
"The support we have been receiving has been really good."
"The fault management is perfect."
"The alarm and root cause analysis features are the most valuable to me, as they help to pinpoint causes of outages and performance issues and identify the specific component responsible for an issue, thus accelerating problem and issue resolution."
"Root-cause analysis and modelling pinpoint the exact cause of problems, which makes life easier."
"This is a very powerful tool with a lot of functionality."

Cons

"On the version I use, there are some bugs that are probably resolved in the latest version."
"Not being able to accurately predict interference and then engineer or react accordingly does cost us money."
"Connections from the antenna to the main unit are not efficient to connect and disconnect. Also, not thought out for placement of the cable between the unit and antenna to not catch the things disconnecting it during use."
"We have had some issues with the spec server and the high availability replication of data. It fails over well, but it does not come back very well. We get duplicated events."
"The upgrade process could be smoother. More of the steps around upgrading could be automated."
"The technical support is average. We've had better support from other companies and also worse support from other companies."
"Yes, IM was very shaky and it seemed like CA were throwing hotfixes at us to fend us off until the next release."
"This solution is too complicated to use for us, especially if you have many components."
"In my opinion, it's the documentation that I find is not up to the mark."
"DX Spectrum should have an automatic ticketing mechanism with ServiceNow. I need to use other tools for event management."
"CABI was a major issue for us, but the newly added Jaspersoft is a better-suited reporting toolset, so this has already been addressed."
