Data governance has transformed business glossaries and now drives AI-ready insights
I think it's a great platform. Searching can be made a little better. The data marketplace which it provides is also great, but sometimes when we are searching an element and we know we are not sure if we can find it or if we have missed it. Listing data domains in one place for quick visibility will be an add-on. I am not a hardcore coder. For a coder to create workflows and automate the process, I needed to learn Groovy script and create some workflows. In the automation part, I think it can also introduce a low-code, no-code platform where we can connect different connectors and we can quickly create some automated workflows, if at basic level only, because the next big thing is automation and AI. Low-code, no-code platforms are being used by everyone. I think that will be useful. When I look for a data domain, I'm not able to find it very quickly. For a business owner to know data domains and search data domains, it could be made a little easier. Also, the automation part needs improvement. We are only able to enter the data manually or connect to a data source, but now we want to create some workflows as well. That's why I've chosen a rating of eight. Otherwise, it's really great.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The way it processes contemporaneous research prompts is much better than Chat GPT; it gives more fullsome answers that combine current data with the existing training data."
"The quick, easy, and secure access to a LLM has enabled us to use these facilities without fear of information being shared elsewhere."
"Collibra is evolving their connectivity towards all programs across the IT landscape, with good workflows, nine dimensions of data quality, and many features, and it is based on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning so that even if you don't know SQL, you can operate Collibra Data Quality."
"The most valuable features of Collibra are the workflows and the data lineage capabilities, as they help improve the client's existing processes by allowing you to map those into workflows so the processes can be directly executed on Collibra."
"The solution allowed us to quickly and efficiently implement our data governance operating model, including accountabilities, regulatory lineage, and data dictionaries. This was much faster and more efficient than manual methods or other tools like Informatica. I prefer Collibra Lineage for its self-service capabilities."
"On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Collibra Data Intelligence Platform a 10."
"I find the rule modification and the replication of the rules in Collibra happens very quickly."
"Collibra Governance's most valuable features are data lineage and stewardships."
"We have folks in the field doing our clinical research operations, and they have the opportunity to refer to Collibra when they are examining a particular report. When they have a question about how something in that report is derived, they can pull a metric that is defined fully in Collibra. They have the opportunity to drill back into Collibra to see that."
"The solution's technical support is helpful and responsive."

Cons

"Some of the consoles are still a bit clunky; there is room for improvement there."
"Any changes would be cosmetic; the interface could be smartened up."
"The licensing is one area that could get improved."
"The price of Collibra Governance could improve."
"The connectors are not very sophisticated. They can do, for example, Informatica and Tableau, but the connectors themselves could be improved."
"The workflows and the language they use needs to be improved."
"The Collibra interface is not very user-friendly because it has a lot of features that business users find difficult to navigate."
"There are certain processes that involve a lot of manual work, specifically when searching for attributes assignment. It would be better if we could do this via APIs."
"When you have a huge amount of hierarchical data to manage, the solution's performance tends to decrease."
"Data discovery would be the major area that requires improvement across the landscape and I'd also like to see data redundancies."
