Simplifies payroll processing and reduces the need for extensive marketing efforts while providing scalability, compliance, and excellent stability
I believe there is room for enhancement in the scope of services. We encountered challenges at times in clearly defining it, particularly because the firewall domain is extensive and demands localization for this service. Consequently, there is occasional confusion regarding whether a service falls under the standard category or is considered an add-on. I think there is a need for a deeper level of comprehension.

We don't currently need third-party solutions because Red Hat provides security through RH-ACM. This Red Hat product helps us identify vulnerabilities in Pods, YAML files, and other components. When we encounter vulnerability issues, we raise tickets, implement Red Hat's solutions, and close the tickets. OpenShift is predominantly implemented in banking sectors. Banking sectors require Enterprise edition platforms due to RBI guidelines. While small-scale industries might use Kubernetes on AWS platform, major banks such as SBI and Central Bank of India prefer OpenShift for its Enterprise edition status and comprehensive support from Red Hat. IPI setup is straightforward, but air gap environment setup is more challenging as it requires configuring HAProxy, DNS, manual DNS server, creating ignition files, downloading images, and creating separate repositories. Regarding competition, based on my knowledge, OpenShift has limited competitors apart from Red Hat. IBM has acquired Red Hat for OpenShift, and they run OpenShift on their Linux platform, making IBM the primary competitor. This product deserves a rating of 10 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"They are very strong in terms of having a central regional system, where a regional person can see and monitor the calendar for each different country and know what stage they are in, if the process has been finalized and approved, and if the process has gone back to the bank, all monitored regionally."
"The product is good, user-friendly, and effective."
"I like the reporting feature as it allows me to generate reports independently without relying on a payroll consultant."
"The most valuable feature was that everything was in one system."
"The advantage was that ADP Streamline was inherently designed to serve as a marketing engine for the company."
"The ability to have one reporting for all countries is valuable."
"The product allows you to create and manage shared services centrally even in small countries."
"The integration between the different models like personnel administration, work management, payroll, and time management are the most valuable and key features."
"Core HR data management for employee and organizational data is very stable and flexible."
"The payroll suite is very valuable."
"SAP HCM has totally integrated our work; we left a manual environment, and much of our work is now automated with this solution."
"The most valuable feature, in my view, is the level of exceptions or error messages that come back when something goes wrong."
"The localization packages and, of late, the Rapid Deployment Solutions have proved to be immensely time saving and thus have made SAP implementations monetarily viable for the SME sector."
"All of the core processes are very valuable aspects of the solution. These include personnel, administration, organizational structure, and payroll."
"It's very suitable for large, multi-geography companies but also very suitable for medium companies with multi-geography operations."

Cons

"The product is not quite up to our expectations."
"They could improve the service relationship manager (SRM), because they have an SRM which is not familiar with Simple."
"The reporting tool could be improved as it currently is just a data dump and much manipulation is required."
"The UI could be improved to be a bit more modern or trendy because it looks old-fashioned compared to other systems."
"I think there is a need for a deeper level of comprehension."
"We had to scrap plans to integrate Brazil because it was not doable."
"Having more clear guidance on design and training would be beneficial."
"The pricing is high as compared with other products in the market. For a small service that is out of scope, it has a huge service charge."
"SAP HCM could improve by having more resources and making it more user-friendly. It is complex."
"SAP needs a total upgrade to the user interface. I've worked with the performance module and the objectives and goals module in HCM and they're far from being satisfying to any customer compared to what exists now with SuccessFactors."
"In my experience, SAP HCM and similar products are very good, but the focus now should be on providing features to encourage employee adoption. For example, accessing pay slips is a task that naturally drives adoption. However, AI tools that can prompt employees at the right time through the right application are needed for actions such as conducting surveys or gathering performance feedback."
"SAP is not ready to sell the license on time and delays the progress of projects. It's better to work with a competitor like Oracle. Those that are selling the product just go through powerpoints and don't have the knowledge necessary to sell. They can't answer any questions."
"SAP is not ready to sell the license on time and delays the progress of projects."
"SAP is also very hard to integrate."
"The support wasn't that good."
"Reports need to be added on the time management side."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The amount we pay is not low, and it is not high. It is average."
"Our company had a standardized pricing model based on the number of employees."
"The cost depends on the size of the organization. Compared to others, I'd say Oracle is number one, followed by Workday and SAP HCM."
"The terms on which you buy licenses might change due to the way they license in a particular product."
"HCM is cheaper than SuccessFactors."
"SAP is expensive, but if you're using the product, then the expensive product becomes inexpensive. Considering its performance and features, I find it quite reasonable."
"In my view, this product is a waste of money for SMB because there are much better products available and licensing is an issue."
"The cost of SAP HCM is high, the license should be reduced. SAP HCM has a lot of hidden costs."
"The pricing depends upon the specific model and number of user accounts included in a bundle."
"For implementation, SAP offers little support unless you buy SAP Safeguarding from SAP Consulting."
