Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Cloud backup has reduced storage costs and now delivers fast, reliable data recovery
My overall experience in this field is seven years. The deployment model I have chosen for Druva Phoenix is mostly cloud-based backup. Government authorities and government customers majorly opt for on-premises deployment, but we have a very limited customer segment from that area. Druva Phoenix primarily operates on a private cloud, with some customers utilizing hybrid cloud solutions. If I assess the effectiveness of backup features in Druva Phoenix, particularly in minimizing operational disruptions, I would rate it as a very strong 9 or 9.5 on a scale of 10. I am not using Druva Data Security Cloud. My overall review rating for Druva Phoenix is 9.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is very user-friendly in terms of the interface - especially if you compare it to other solutions such as Veeam or Veritas."
"It allows us to backup our remote sites to a local NAS device, and allows for easy retrieval of data."
"Our customers can backup to local storage and they can back up or replicate to the cloud."
"Previously I used Ghost from Symantec; I also tried other products at the same time just to make sure I was making the right decision, and there is no question that Acronis is better than everyone else."
"The configuration of automatic backups and the full image of the hard drive, so in case something happens I can recover the full hard drive."
"Image based backup, restore Windows based images quickly and on different hardware."
"The tool is user-friendly."
"The most valuable feature is the extra protection, especially for the backup."
"I found the cost-effectiveness of Druva Phoenix to be its most valuable feature, especially when compared to on-premises backup solutions."
"The initial setup was very straightforward."
"Druva Phoenix provides a return on investment and operational cost reductions after implementation."
"Once you set it up and you tell it exactly what needs to be backed up, you literally forget about it. It sends you emails and notifications of the current status of the jobs."
"The most valuable features of Druva Phoenix are the simple portal to log in and flexibility."
"The best features of Druva Phoenix include comprehensive backup capabilities where you can back up your data with agent plus backup, deploy the proxy, and integrate your VMs to take your backup."
"The solution is great for companies that need backup capabilities."
"We chose the best one that works for us which was Druva Phoenix."

Cons

"The Acronis Workstation Backup and Recovery version 11.7 is not backwards compatible."
"This is not a feature-rich solution."
"The cost of Acronis Cyber Protect is good, but as a general judgment here in Egypt, the economic situation is not good. If they can provide a waiver or discount for low-income countries, it would help to spread adoption."
"For smaller companies, it's a little more challenging to maintain."
"MS Exchange and SQL backups are a little slow and odd to setup."
"One of my clients is using version 11.7, which I feel has quite a few bugs and is not easy to work with."
"When we do POCs, we can't open support tickets. We have to go to a PO to open support tickets."
"The software requires a number of network ports to be open between the management machine and the clients and backup devices."
"The product's pricing needs to be improved."
"The price is always one of those things that you always look to just improve if you're a not-for-profit organization."
"Druva Phoenix is optimized to work with x86 platforms, making it unsuitable for backing up non-x86 architectures like AIX. The solution is primarily designed for physical Linux and Windows systems based on the x86 architecture, as well as virtualized Windows and Linux environments. However, if you have an AIX system, it cannot be deployed in the cloud, and therefore, backing it up in the cloud is not a concern."
"The ransomware features are limited in Druva. There's a lot of improvement needed. It should extend to Nutanix and Hyper-V. It should extend to Azure as well."
"They were able to give us a very reasonable price considering we were non-for-profit organizations, however, there is always room for improvement on that cost."
"There is room for improvement in the reporting aspect of Druva Phoenix."
"Druva Phoenix should include a few reporting features that it doesn't provide currently."
"Deploying it in a hybrid cloud model involves some minor complexities, though nothing represents a significant challenge."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We use the free version that provides very basic functionalities."
"I would rate the solution’s pricing an eight out of ten. The tool’s subscription is yearly."
"I like the pricing, and that it is easy to use and has performed well. "
"It is very cost-effective for the SMB segment, especially for start-ups and smaller environments. It is cost-effective for on-premises and on-cloud deployments in such environments."
"I think that the prices of the product go up every year. If one is extremely expensive and ten is absolutely cheap, I rate the product price as six."
"The tool's subscription costs are monthly. The product's pricing is fair."
"It is a low-cost solution."
"You pay for what you use in the cloud. If you don't start the virtual machine in the cloud, you only pay for the information stored there. But when you start the virtual machine, another pricing model is activated."
"Druva Phoenix's pricing is based on the service provided, and it's reasonable. The cost of the service will depend on the size of your data and the number of virtual machines being backed up. However, the pricing structure is straightforward and easy to understand."
"I assume clients use Druva Phoenix because it is cheaper than other products."
"We’ve had experience with the data center for a while and we have had solutions that were able to support older versions of the operating systems that we needed. I would like for Druva to support it as well."
"It's very costly. Normal people wouldn't understand how their credits are calculated. It's pretty complex."
