Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"One of the features I have found most valuable is the restore point - it gives us what we need at the time we need it. The important thing is that the backup for Acronis doesn't depend as much on the device.""The web-based interface makes it easy to use.""For my first experience, it is the best software for backups, especially for a five-system backup.""Acronis is a flexible solution. It can back up workstations, endpoints, and even your virtual environments and cloud-based environments. So, we can do the backup of the whole gamut of products.""It actually does its job very well and has interesting capabilities, but it has the most awful interface.""Some of the most valuable features are recovery, protection against malware, and software management. I am happy with the dashboards and user interface.""It's always stable. It's very good, useful, and user-friendly.""The interface is easy to use. They keep on adding new features. Acronis recently added multi-platform support."

"If you are running on a legacy tape environment NetBackup is best.""The solution is easy to scale.""The backup and restore features work very well.""We believe that everything Veritas NetBackup offers, including backups, snapshots, deduplication, and replication, is valuable.""NetBackup is very easy for end-users.""There's a very nice central console for the administration of all of the instances.""Best feature is its three-tier backup.""I have found the Media Server Deduplication tool, deployment policies, and agentless features to be the most valuable features."

Cons
"The problems that we face are often related to the customer's network, although sometimes there are problems with the software, such as an error in the configuration.""In some cases, at the time of reinstallation, some disasters happen. For the licensing on the computer the name of the computer and domain, everything is removed from the registry level. Then we have to install the Acronis from the start for it to work properly. Otherwise, the Acronis software will cause a lot of trouble at the time of reinstallation. That's where they need to improve the product. In the case people want to install the same software with the same hardware, it should not stop me.""The solution could improve by providing more database backup features and have better integration with many different types of databases. We cannot implement it in all of our infrastructures.""When I first started using Acronis, I found it a little bit confusing when it came to the configuration.""We have sometimes issues with the child copies and other similar functions, but it's normal with any backup solution. We need to fix those issues first in order for us to be able to do the backup properly.""A little bit more integration would be good. It should support broader platforms.""There are some limitations to the backup.""We needed to have help from the vendor for implementation. The vendor used two personnel. We have system administrators and they do the server backups themself."

More Acronis Backup Cons →

"The biggest problem with NetBackup is licensing.""It is a very expensive solution. They should have a different scheme for selling it. They should also make it easy for us to switch from Solaris to Linux. We are having some trouble in migrating our actual catalog from Solaris to Linux.""The solution costs too much.""Its integration with Nutanix and technical support can be improved.""It would be better if it had a cloud integration feature. I would like to use a single product for the cloud instances and the on-premise instances. The price could also be better.""The security and performance could improve with Veritas NetBackup. The security could be improved by protecting the data from attackers.""Veritas could simplify the firmware recovery in terms of the deployed. The process shouldn't be dependent on the agents. It should be completely agentless.""Within their product lineup, they need to consolidate down to one product. Veritas doesn't have one product that does everything. So, Veritas can do everything, but you basically need to run two products. I would like them to combine all the capabilities into one release."

  • "Licensing fees are billed annually and there are no extra charges."
  • "The price of the solution is expensive and could be reduced a little."
