SmartWall's capability in delivering localized attack handling provides effective network DDoS protection. The hybrid approach it offers is well-suited for meeting customer needs. Pricing is competitive, focusing on network protection rather than application filtering. However, Corero seeks to improve Spanish support, enhance DDoS prevention, and expand internationally. Partnerships are crucial for handling volumetric attacks, while improved Layer 7 capabilities and better application DDoS prevention are desired. Customers benefit from rapid reaction times, addressing smaller impactful attacks in data centers and networks.
What are the key features of Corero SmartWall?Corero is widely used by service providers and government clients for DDoS protection, deploying SmartWall, SecureWatch, and Management Systems. Customers find it effective in detecting and mitigating attacks, with usage extending to routers and network security, ensuring infrastructure integrity in data centers and network projects.

| Presale Manager at HTech Vietnam | 4.0 | I use Corero mainly for network DDoS protection, where it excels, though it lacks application filtering and application DDoS prevention. Its pricing is client-friendly, and it's comparable to products like Radware DefensePro, with room for improving application-level features. |
| Presales Specialist at Netnordic | 3.5 | I use Corero for DDoS protection in our routers and find its features valuable. However, it needs more Layer 7 capabilities and deep inspection features to improve functionality. We haven't considered or used other solutions or providers. |
| Diretor de Tecnologia at Lever Tech - Tecnologia Sustentavel | 4.5 | I've used Corero for government clients and appreciate its one-microsecond latency threat detection. It effectively handles smaller attacks and features a user-friendly interface. However, it relies on partnerships for tackling larger volumetric attacks. |
| Head of security of digital systems, electronic databases and networks at a financial services firm with 1,001-5,000 employees | 4.0 | I found Corero to be a good DDoS solution, especially if you have Juniper MX routers, noting its valuable vendor support and easy setup. However, it needs more marketing in my country to increase awareness. |
| Managing Director at IMTI | 4.0 | As a consultant, I provide this hybrid solution to clients and rate it 8/10. Its setup is straightforward, but I wish Corero had a stronger international presence to better support our globally active customers. |
| Local Sevices Engineer at a computer software company with 201-500 employees | 5.0 | I find Corero Network's SmartWall excellent for DDoS mitigation, especially its robust, high-performing, low-latency independent link processing and easy installation. It provides comprehensive protection, though I wish it offered Spanish support. |
I use Corero for network DDoS protection projects. It is particularly effective in providing protection against network DDoS attacks.
I find Corero to be good, especially in a wide area. It does not have application filtering or application DDoS prevention, but for network DDoS projects, it is perfect. The most important aspect, in general, is that the price is suitable for most clients.
Corero needs to improve its application DDoS prevention capabilities and user behavior detection features.
I started using Corero two months ago.
I'm not sure about Corero's scalability as I am new to the product and need to consume and reserve a lot of information.
I have experience with Radware DefensePro and other products. In terms of network DDoS protection, I find Corero comparable and suitable.
The pricing of Corero is reasonable and suitable for most clients. However, I am not sure about the approximate licensing costs.
I work with multiple products, including those from different DDoS protection providers, not only Radware and Corero.
I recommend Corero as it focuses well on network DDoS protection. It scores eight out of ten for its network DDoS protection capabilities. To improve further, Corero needs to enhance its application filtering and user behavior detection features.

We have been using Corero for government customers.
Corero stands out from other market solutions because of its ability to operate within the infrastructure with a latency of one microsecond. It can quickly detect and respond to threats, unlike other approaches that rely on traffic patterns and take up to 10 to 15 minutes to react. Corero is especially effective against smaller attacks that can cause significant damage to the infrastructure and traffic.
The most valuable feature of Corero is its ability to handle smaller attacks in terms of the amount of volume and time. You can handle almost 100 perfect of the attacks locally.
The graphical interface is good and provides information in an easily understandable way. Corero has already done a good job of increasing usability.
The approach taken by Corero is to partner with other organizations in order to address volumetric attacks that cannot be handled by the hardware installed in the infrastructure. Corero does not have a solution for these attacks, so they are looking for partners to help them manage them. This approach is supplemented by local hardware, but the main focus is on the partnerships. It would be beneficial to have a more complete solution.
I have been using Corero for approximately 12 years.
Corero is highly stable.
I rate the stability of Corero a ten out of ten.
The solution is scalable it can go up to 100-gigabit traffic.
I rate the scalability of Corero a nine out of ten.
I'm pleased with the support from Corero. It's especially beneficial for me since I have strong ties within the company, which gives me access to a variety of engineers and reliable technical support.
I rate the support from Corero an eight out of ten.
Positive
The initial setup of Corero is simple. Setting up the security infrastructure, such as firewalls is relatively straightforward. However, configuring firewalls can be quite challenging since it affects the entire infrastructure. With Corero, you only need to manage traffic on one link, you don't need to worry about routing translations or other complex tasks. Firewall setup can take months, but Corero can be completed in a matter of days.
The price of Corero is affordable.
I rate the price of Corero an eight out of ten.
I use one professional for the deployment of Corero.
Most attacks on the internet last for less than 10 minutes and involve less than one gigabyte of traffic, which means large volumetric solutions do not detect them. These more minor attacks can still damage your services, so it is important to have a solution installed in front of your infrastructure to keep it protected.
I rateCorero a nine out of ten.
We used it for DDoS protection. I worked in a data center, and we tried it there for a pilot project.
It is a good solution. Its vendor support is the most valuable. It is simple and works well if you have Juniper MX routers.
Juniper is known in our country, but it is not very popular. There is also not enough information about Corero. Our enterprise and financial sectors don't know about this solution. They need to provide more information and do more marketing for this solution in our country.
I used this solution for nearly one month.
I have used Arbor. Both Corero and Arbor are good solutions, and I like both of them and their vendor support. I would recommend both of them. If you want a DDoS solution and you don't have a Juniper MX router, then either of them would work. If you have Juniper MX, then it is better and cheaper to buy Corero.
The initial setup was easy. It took a day.
Its price is normal.
I would rate Corero an eight out of ten.
We are customers of Corero and consultants, so we're providing this solution to our customers, we are not the end user. I'm the managing director.
I like the fact that the product provides a hybrid solution.
I'd like to see an increase in Corero's international team. Our clients are generally companies with an international presence and Corero is not represented in all the countries where our clients have presence.
We've been providing this solution for about a month.
I've heard that the technical support is quite good.
The initial setup is straightforward, it takes a few hours.
I would rate this solution an eight out of 10.
We use Corero Network in Peru for service providers to mitigate attacks, specifically with Corero Network SmartWall, Corero SecureWatch, and Corero Management Systems.
It is a very efficient and robust appliance.
For Corero SmartWall, the failure of a link is not the failure of all the links. The saturation of one link does not affect the scanning of other links. This is because one SmartWall appliance does not affect its processing compared to other links, because it is simply separated.
The advantage lies precisely in that Corero adopts each link with a SmartWall independently in scanning, i.e., each link has its own SmartWall Threat Defense Appliance. The installation and maintenance work carried out on a single link does not impact the others links.
Finally, each SmartWall device has an out-of-band management interface. Thanks to this, the centralized management component CMS can manage the entire solution.
SmartWall is the platform that has the following advantages in front of the real and sensitive needs of the carrier and data center:
It could use support in Spanish.
SmartWall devices occupy only one-fourth of the width of a rack unit, making them very easy to install.
