Contributed a review of AirMagnet Spectrum XT: I can use it to determine the precise placement of APs to satisfy customers’ needs for data, voice, or location.

As far as the logs are concerned I agree as previously stated however there is a packet capture feature that is extremely detailed. Unfortunately there is no middle ground.

Never heard back on the POS devices. I would love to know more specifics. I also agree that logs are very lean and can be a source of frustration.

Commented on It can handle Radius and TACACS+. It is quite complex when it comes to troubleshooting.
We may have borrowed ideas from other sources, but I do not think so. More based on years of experience with ACLs, firewall rule sets and working on the ISE flow and best practices. Also creating a flow chart of ISE flow is great. If you can create it prior to…

Commented on It can handle Radius and TACACS+. It is quite complex when it comes to troubleshooting.
Sure! Two things we find helpful are to never use any default rues as a PERMIT. #1 All default rules are to Deny as DEFAULT is generic and will exist in every Profile set multiple times and therefore be very confusing in logs. #2 Use descriptive names but do not make them…

So get to know the fields in the AAA logs and pay close attention to the modifiers available for searches. Also a good design, which includes logical, consistent naming conventions will make things jump out and will make searching that much easier. I hope this helps!

Commented on It can handle Radius and TACACS+. It is quite complex when it comes to troubleshooting.
I agree that troubleshooting is quite complex, however this is as much as product of RAIDUS/Dot1x as it is with ISE specifically I will say that the troubleshooting view and the fact that you need to move to report for any older AAA information can be clumsy and…

Contributed a review of Ubiquiti WLAN: If price is the most important factor than this may be the right solution. The product is slightly unstable.

Commented on It has a centralized and unified highly secure access control with ISE, which grew out of ACS.
I would like to add that the Profile Sets really help organize and strucutre a AAA deployment. Thanks Cisco!

Prashant I agree that the TAC is as good as any vendor out there. Customers should always leverage that resource!

Also approaching any AAA-802.1x rollout hollistically and logically will help scalability and troubleshooting. Measure twice (or 3 times) cut once!

Commented on It's allowed us to be SDN-enabled with networking thrust re-route or pick-ups at the switch edges.
Aruba is the only vendor besides Cisco with the level of granularity to fine-tune RF with such granularity.

Commented on It has improved WiFi security and guest on-boarding to our networks, but it needs to be more vendor independent.
I have found technical support to be excellent, but do not be afraid to escalate if you feel you are as proficient or more so than the intial tech.

Commented on It's a reliable product and it just works. The most valuable feature for us is the support they provide.
I believe there are differnet deployment models if you do not want to centralize the deployment. You can split traffic or go controlerless.

Aruba is a very solid product with options that allow it to keep up with all the competitors.
