Experience:
Over 40 years experience in many areas of information technology, starting with mainframe and mini computer operations in commercial data processing centres, technical writing (systems admin and user manuals) and training, followed by programming in a broad depth and breadth of languages (machine code-3G-OO), database design and management, 4 years in information management and data standards in the community health sector, then on to project management and business analysis, ending up in management of ICT sections: projects, infrastructure, services and then security, with a large component of consultancy and project management throughout.
The initial 10 years were in the private sector, either service providers or business, accompanied by university studies and the last 31 years in the Tasmanian government sector.

Specialties: I have an extensive understanding of the technologies and process requirements across the IT/IS&IM spectrum. A generalist with specialisations in security strategy development, systems and business process analysis, change management and alignment of ICT and business goals and plans.
