Pure does not use eMLC drives for its data storage. Pure uses the cheaper grade cMLC drives. The eMLC drives are used as pseudo NVRAM for metadata so are written to over and over again.

Rene, Great review did you alter any of the hosts setting IE round robin and queue depth. This will help bring down the latency times dramatically.

How does 3PAR handle mixed workload, data dedupe and SSD wear & tear. Reason I ask is that I have heard 3PAR performance falls off a cliff with dedeupe. Disclosure: I work for EMC
