My main use case for TIBCO Jaspersoft was a legacy application that used Jasper for reporting and ETL processes. I migrated off and rewrote these processes in Python, but I still use JRXMLs to generate reports while slowly migrating to Power BI. I used TIBCO Jaspersoft for forecasting of accessories. Ie do a lot of order management, so we would use Jasper to transform Java objects and those ETL processes into reports that would be used by business to forecast orders. I did not choose TIBCO Jaspersoft. I inherited this legacy application that was already written in Jaspersoft.
TIBCO Jaspersoft provides user-friendly reports that are rich in format. The installation process and deployment have undergone recent changes, including an activation service that requires keys. To get the exact steps for installation, I need to follow up with the support team, and then users can begin using it. There are a few changes that have been recently encountered, and I hope the process will be smooth going forward.
I use the tool with Spring Boot application for its reporting capabilities. In my company, we use TIBCO Jaspersoft to build a Java application, Spring Boot, and we need reporting capabilities to be available in the application. In short, we use the tool because of its compatibility with Java.

The primary use case was creating reports and distributing them over the web to my in-house colleagues, and for some departments that used certain reports, Jasper was free and very effective for presenting data from databases.

I started using the solution for report writing. Over time, the solution added functionality to become more of a business intelligence tool. For example, the solution added ad hoc report writers, online report writers for creating custom reports, and a dashboard designer. For one use case at People's Bank, I deployed the on-premises solution. For another use case at my company, I used the cloud-based solution with exports or flag files stored in the S3 bucket.
