What advice do you have for others considering Oracle SuperCluster?

If you were talking to someone whose organization is considering Oracle SuperCluster, what would you say?

How would you rate it and why? Any other tips or advice?

It's important to realize that this is a big system for enterprise companies and not suitable for small business. I would rate this product an eight out of 10.

My advice to someone considering this solution is to do your homework before switching to this solution. Look at what the solution offers, look at the licensing because we might think that doing the Oracle SuperCluster would actually reduce the licensing. It is not like that. The staff should also know what kind of issues to expect so as to be able to actually work with them to be able to work with the SuperCluster. The staff should be trained to identify issues. I would rate SuperCluster a six out of ten.

Comparing the Dell FX2, Dell VRTX, Cisco UCS, Cisco HyperFlex, HPE Synergy; which one would have a clear edge over the others? Given the fact the each one would have a specific use case but for general purpose VMWare based (Windows and RHEL) workload utilizing EMC XtremeIO and Isilon, which one of these would be the best pick in today's time?

Based on the options, i would actually go with HP Simplivity. The Simplivity lines allows for a complete hyperconverged box, with a minimal footprint. Though they claim to be a one stop shop, i would consider having a file level backup for day to day restore and recover points. Simplivity is also very scalable for growing offices.

I think the verdict is still out, but I personally would be leaning towards VMware based on a recent presentation I saw from them. Ed
