I don't know if there's a definitive top 10 list, but if all you're looking for is a product to discover your network there's a free version of WhatsUp Gold available. WhatsUp Gold Starter Edition has all the features of the full version but it's limited to 5 points. It uses the same comprehensive discovery process as WhatsUp Gold and will find everything attached to your network.
