What is our primary use case?
Our main use case for Varnish Cloud is for caching purposes.
My experience with Varnish Cloud is generally for e-commerce websites, as e-commerce has always been a challenge for a testing system where you need to give performance to the end customers, and that performance can only be achievable with static content, which Varnish Cloud fulfills. I can simply show cached pages to the end users, the pages which are not dynamic, such as product listings and any static blocks or static data.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable aspect is that it is very easy to handle Varnish Cloud TTLs, and Varnish Cloud works very well. I can store any amount of data, and I also appreciate the control over Varnish Cloud, such as with the tags, where I can tag certain areas of caching.
I believe the best features Varnish Cloud offers are its management capabilities and the control over Varnish Cloud itself. I appreciate the management interface and how all the management policies are very nicely handled, along with very productive responses. The tool works very well, and I have been seeing the same Varnish technology for the last 11 to 12 years, and I'm continuously working on it.
Varnish Cloud is impacting our end users positively, basically in terms of their profit growth because the profit is coming from saving the infrastructure load and also serving the customer website very fast.
It is giving a faster load speed which helped customers purchase things faster and finish the checkout journey as soon as possible, and it has also helped the website vendor reduce the cost of infrastructure.
What needs improvement?
I believe the improvement for Varnish Cloud could be if it can work with dynamic data as well, because as of now, it is working only with static data. I'm thinking if it can work similar to a Redis solution. That is the only thing I'm seeing right away regarding needed improvements.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working in my current field for almost 16 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Varnish Cloud is very stable in my experience.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability of Varnish Cloud is very good; it scales when needed.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support for Varnish Cloud is very good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I normally use Varnish Cloud and Redis only, so I haven't previously used a different solution.
What was our ROI?
Money and time are absolutely saved with Varnish Cloud, but I cannot give you the exact metrics now.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing has been good.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I haven't evaluated other options before choosing Varnish Cloud.
What other advice do I have?
I believe I have mentioned everything regarding the features.
Sometimes I purchase Varnish Cloud through the AWS Marketplace, and sometimes I host it by myself.
Regarding Varnish Cloud's security capabilities, I believe the security is just for static data, which is kind of publicly available, so I don't think it is that critical.
Regarding Varnish Cloud's accuracy and reliability of output, I find it to be very good. The reliability and output are very good, and I have been using it for many years.
I would advise others looking into using Varnish Cloud to go with it because it gives a lot of flexibility to manage the cache. It is a highly recommended product, and I will definitely recommend it. I would rate Varnish Cloud an eight on a scale of one to ten because I think the capability to manage dynamic content or compatibility with dynamic content is lacking.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Hybrid Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
