Has improved employee satisfaction and streamlined real-time data management
In terms of customizations in specific modules for industry requirements, SAP SuccessFactors is much more generic and does not comply many times with industry requirements as a vertical. In my experience with SuccessFactors' analytics capabilities influencing decision-making, workforce analytics is still challenging due to customizations. It does not provide flexibility in terms of analytics, and we have to customize extensively. For the future of the product, I would like to see more AI implementation, Python integrations, and GPT integrations.

A customizable, end-to-end solution for Performance Management, Learning, and Succession Planning
* There should be a feature for succession managers to add employee-specific comments so that it is visible only to the manager. * Not sure how this can be made easier, but the development of interface from the core HR system to this system is a tedious and time-consuming process, involving multiple iterations of modifications and testing. * Analytics is one area where this system really needs a large improvement because currently, it has only basic reporting features.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"There are a lot of features in SuccessFactors that HR can actually explore. We recently implemented a learning platform that employs the individual staff to actually manage their own learning."
"One of the most wonderful features is the ability to customize the modules and workflows. So far, we've done a fair bit of customization and it is helping us a lot and really adds to the value we already get from SuccessFactors."
"All of SuccessFactors' features are useful, but there are several modules within SuccessFactors that I find handy. You have Employee Central, which manages employee records within the system. It manages all the information about an employee, including names, addresses, account numbers, positions, org charts, etc. It also handles performance reviews and KPIs for employees within an organization. Then you have succession planning and development as well."
"HR and managers can use the onboarding tool to help new employees prepare for their first day on the job, which can help them acclimate to the company culture and reduce anxiety."
"The cloud security and the correct features for payroll calculations, once issues are resolved, are valuable aspects of this product."
"The tool's most valuable feature is document generation."
"SAP SuccessFactors is stable, we have not found any bugs or glitches."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the performance management module."
"System usability has improved to a large extent and our manual effort has been reduced."

Cons

"The graphical user interface (GUI) is not very friendly. On the homepage, it is not possible to place advisories or announcements at the top."
"There have been cases involving a lot of re-implementations and frustrations within clients where they have the workbook sessions, the workbook workshops and things like that. And I think that doesn't really go down well because the workbooks are very technical and, a lot of times, very confusing for the client."
"SAP SuccessFactors could improve learning management. The module is desperate and should be included in the primary solution. Additionally, it is missing some business use cases."
"LMS, Learning Management Systems, needs improvement because there were some stability problems."
"Language settings in the solution need to be improved."
"he user interface could be improved."
"One area for improvement is making SuccessFactors more compatible with other countries, especially in terms of payroll and other functionalities."
"There is not much scope for enhancements, personalization, or customization with the cloud-based variant of this solution, which could be improved."
"Analytics is one area where this system really needs a large improvement because currently, it has only basic reporting features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you go by best practices and do it right from the outset, the setup won't be a costly endeavor. In terms of setup, there is a lot of flexibility compared to three years ago."
"Probably, it is one of the priciest products, and is very costly to put up and maintain but because it is a good solution end to end, people take it."
"It is not expensive because it is a complete suite with a module-based cost."
"The price of the solution is highly expensive."
"We have a yearly license. There are no additional costs."
"I don't want to comment on the license cost, to be honest. It could be about $1,000 approximately per customer. However, it's very flexible in terms of the licensing costs depending on the volume and depending on the deal of installation."
"We are on an annual subscription to use SAP SuccessFactors. The pricing model is something that they could restructure a bit better. If it was based differently on the type of usage it would help."
"I think the pricing is a little better than most solutions out there. There are reasonable prices when it comes to some of the modules such as the Payroll module, and for the remaining modules I believe the pricing is fair in comparison to the rest of the market."
"Licensing is quite flexible, but please ensure that you have the right team negotiating with them."

I see them less in recent new contracts for larger organisations, which are typically won by the other ones mentioned in Q2. From what I have seen from Sumtotal, it is a fine LMS but may be a bit old fashioned with less appealing learning experience. Other attention points are availability of experienced consultancy services in your area and the integration with other modules in the Talent suite, as some of these have been acquired, so integration may be an issue.
