I feel that Rigor can improve their customer service for time zones outside of the United States. When I post a question on their chat, I usually need to wait a couple of hours for the answer. I believe the service desk is in the United States, while I am working in Europe, requiring me to wait for them to start their work day.

Alerting improves incident response across teams and enables faster awareness before customer impact
Splunk Observability Cloud could be improved in terms of integrations with more technical add-ons, such as Zoom. Although they have one with Zoom, it's not available in the cloud, so having that feature would be beneficial. Essentially, Splunk should continue expanding to create easier ways to ingest logs from different products. The out-of-the-box customizable dashboards in Splunk Observability Cloud are very effective in showcasing IT performance to business leaders. However, there are aspects that could be improved, such as linking dashboards to one another. While IT leaders may not drill down, it's crucial to create levels of dashboards for technical users to find root causes, making it effective for stakeholders.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Rigor is the ability to test the whole website, including the homepage design and all the sub-pages, in one test. It provides an overview of the whole service."
"What I appreciate most about Splunk Observability Cloud is the correlation feature, specifically the ease of correlating logs and issues to those traces to see where within the path of the business function is failing."
"Overall, I would recommend Splunk to anyone seeking a monitoring solution, thanks to its extensive capabilities and features."
"The most valuable features include user time tracking and the ability to analyze application load times."
"Once configured correctly, the analysis reporting the Splunk APM provides is better than that of the other APM tools."
"The initial setup was straightforward. We didn't find it to be too complex."
"The alerts are the most valuable feature."
"Comparing to Cloud, Splunk Cloud, or any other solution, the most valuable feature of Splunk Observability Cloud is that it is entirely based on metrics."
"The vibrant dashboards are valuable."

Cons

"I feel that Rigor can improve their customer service for time zones outside of the United States. When I post a question on their chat, I usually need to wait a couple of hours for the answer. I believe the service desk is in the United States, while I am working in Europe, requiring me to wait for them to start their work day."
"I feel that Rigor can improve their customer service for time zones outside of the United States."
"The security could be better."
"I've only experienced downtime, crashes, or performance issues when it isn't configured correctly."
"I would say that it is quite helpful, but for different kinds of applications, it could be improved because sometimes it might provide a cloud judgment of the root cause analysis."
"We never had any issues when it comes to the type of use cases we are using it for. We did not need more advancement on it, but I know that, in general, everything can be updated. There are tiny little tweaks that can be made regardless of whether it looks better or has a different flow to it than it does right now, but it works pretty well for what we use it for."
"They need more EDR functionalities."
"We still use Splunk Enterprise licensing. A lot of the newer features go into Splunk Cloud before Enterprise. We're not looking to switch our licensing over, so we're falling behind on the newer features."
"Support from Splunk is not very helpful because Splunk doesn't have a dedicated APM; they only have one APM engineer in Korea."
"The solution's stability is an area that has room for improvement. It needs to provide constant stability to its users."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Splunk APM is expensive."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"Splunk offers a 14-day free trial and after that, we have to pay but the cost is reasonable."
"Splunk has been fairly expensive, but it has been predictable."
"Splunk APM is a very cost-efficient solution."
"This is an expensive solution."
"Licensing cost is the biggest argument I get from those divesting from Splunk. There are those within our organization who say we are going to go to other tools since Splunk is too expensive."
"Splunk's infrastructure monitoring costs can be high because our billing is based on data volume measured in terabytes, rather than the number of devices being monitored."
