We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is pretty stable.""What I found most valuable from Red Hat Ceph Storage is integration because if you are talking about a solution that consists purely of Red Hat products, this is where integration benefits come in. In particular, Red Hat Ceph Storage becomes a single solution for managing the entire environment in terms of the container or the infrastructure, or the worker nodes because it all comes from a single plug.""We have not encountered any stability issues for the product.""I like the distributed and self-healing nature of the product.""Most of the features are beneficial and one does not stand out above the rest.""The most valuable feature is the stability of the product.""We use the solution for cloud storage.""Red Hat Ceph Storage is a reliable solution, it works well."

"The tool's price is competitive and it is easy to use.""The most valuable feature for me in this latest release has been the ability to add a compute or storage node. In the previous release, if I wanted to add only the compute mode, I need to buy a full node, including both compute and storage. That is no longer the case; I can upgrade whatever I want one based on my demand.""First and foremost, I would advise people to purchase this solution mainly for the simplicity of the system. And it's all managed in one place, which is nice compared to Nutanix where you had to administrate multiple places. And, the support now is so good.""It's somewhat hard to speak about specific features, but I like VxRail's simplicity and ease of use. It's a decent solution for customers with a small footprint. If you're operating a big data center, it's not easy to position VxRail or HCI solutions, but when you have a small customer managing many different components, it's easier to work only with one solution.""VxRail is an agile solution with easily scalable, simplify operations with software driven automation and lower operational cost.""We like the design and that it meets data storage needs.""Depending on your architecture type, it's simple to manage and implement VxRail compared to other solutions. That's why most of our customers use it.""Initial setup is straightforward, as everything is pre-installed."

Cons
"An area for improvement would be that it's pretty difficult to manage synchronous replication over multiple regions.""What could be improved in Red Hat Ceph Storage is its user interface or GUI.""It took me a long time to get the storage drivers for the communication with Kubernetes up and running. The documentation could improve it is lacking information. I'm not sure if this is a Ceph problem or if Ceph should address this, but it was something I ran into. Additionally, there is a performance issue I am having that I am looking into, but overall I am satisfied with the performance.""It would be nice to have a notification feature whenever an important action is completed.""It takes some time to re-balance the storage in case of server failure.""The storage capacity of the solution can be improved.""If you use for any other solution like other Kubernetes solutions, it's not very suitable.""The product lacks RDMA support for inter-OSD communication."

"If VxRail could also offer file services in addition to virtualization, that would be nice because sometimes people want to complement their environment with file services, and you don't have that in VxRail.""In the next release, I would like to see our graphical user interface allow us to manage VxRail clusters and everything on a single pane of glass where I can monitor and shut down the server, similar to a VxRail manager.""The tool needs to improve its price.""We'd like to see more automation capabilities in the future.""Dell wants to implement the disaster site in the new year, but they haven't decided yet. I hope we will have the opportunity to sell VxRail with this disaster site. It is not really clear at the moment, but hopefully, we will get some good news from the customers in the new year.""I would like to see VxRail add duplication features to its hybrid solution.""The scalability is limited to a single cluster with 64 nodes.""The configurations of VxRail can be difficult. However, it has improved in the newer version. From version 6 to 7, there has been a lot of changes."

    Reviews from Real Users

VxRail is an all-in-one solution: "You don't have to worry too much about the hardware and you don't have to work on integrating a storage device. We instead have this as an all-in-one solution and everything is available as a box."

VxRail is remarkable: “The cover points feature in VxRail is remarkable. It's unique. It has an intervention failover system as well as an automatic failover system, reaching clusters existing in VxRail…

VxRail is a powerful performer: “...VxRail delivers a very high number of IOPS for a hybrid configuration or an all-flash configuration. The processors that are available in the Xeon family are very powerful. They are multi-core with typically 2 gigahertz, 2.4 gigahertz, or higher frequency, so the performance is very much appreciated.”
