Cloud security has improved remote access and has reduced costs for smaller client sites
I have used Cloudflare One's Identity-Aware Proxy, and it is quite straightforward from what I have seen so far. The app registration on the Azure side integrates fully into Cloudflare, and I am very satisfied with that part because it is easy to set up. The integration of Cloudflare One's Secure Web Gateway and Zero Trust Network Access works without any issues. That part is pretty automatic, and if you complete the rest of the setup, it comes together by itself with no issues from my side. What makes it nice is that we can actually start replacing on-site firewalls at this stage for the smaller clients because it does not matter if they go to a coffee shop or work from home; they are still secured by the same connection. The hops get shorter and you get better latency. We have done testing to see if it is better. One thing that we did notice with our proof of concept with our current client is that they have people connecting from the UK. When they used their previous VPN solution, uploading CAD drawings and other files to the server took a long time. They mentioned that it is much quicker on Cloudflare One's solution. I definitely believe that is part of the improved performance, and I am satisfied with that as well. What is nice about Cloudflare One is that it makes the setup easier and also easier to train technicians to maintain it. Compared to legacy systems, we do not need to get fancy firewalls in place that are costly. That is definitely also a cost-saver with Cloudflare One.

Advanced email protection has reduced fraud risks and simplifies compliance workflows
The primary area for improvement in Perception Point Advanced Email Security is the need for more integrations with XDR solutions. Currently, XDR integration exists with Symantec and CrowdStrike, but additional integrations are needed. I have found that the CrowdStrike integration, specifically the Falcon integration, has been experiencing issues recently. This represents another area requiring improvement. Integration capabilities are particularly important because companies are increasingly transitioning to their own SOC platforms or SIEM solutions to ensure complete environmental integration and security. MDR technology has emerged as a significant market offering, and Perception Point Advanced Email Security should develop integrations with additional solutions in this space. I am fully satisfied with the functionality of Perception Point Advanced Email Security because we have more than 200 customers using this product. We are retaining approximately 85 to 90 percent of our customers with this solution. All customers are satisfied, and we ourselves are satisfied with the product with no plans to change it. The only area for improvement is the integration capabilities.

Comprehensive detection has protected email traffic and now simplifies endpoint security work
Sophos Email security is the primary product I use. It scans all your inbound and outbound email for malware. It also has a capability for looking for phishing and spear phishing content and blocking it. Email has an extended capability that includes what's called a secure web gateway. All user traffic gets managed through that, making it a combination product. The version of the product you run determines which features are available. Reporting is competent. There is scope for more improvements, which they will do as they do every year regularly. They keep updating the product. Reporting gives you the relevant details of what is happening, so it's mature on that front. The main benefit is security for your email. The beauty of the Sophos system is that the XDR functionality runs across the system. Sophos, Trend Micro, and Microsoft are the only three that have a very strong system with this concept. XDR stands for extended detection and response, and it's a technology where the system automatically exchanges security signals between the endpoint, the email, and other similar products of the same brand. If you have Sophos Endpoint and Sophos Email, you have very good connectivity from the endpoint to the cloud at the email level and to some extent onto the browsing traffic. You have a very rounded security aspect.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We mostly use Cloudflare WAF, and gets basic Cloudflaire DDoS, caching as extra bonus . We like the factor these features are all integrated into 1 console, simple to manage."
"Cloudflare One has assisted in securing my remote workforce through a SASE solution with Cloudflare One and the Workers part, although I am not currently using the Workers component."
"Cloudflare, in my opinion, was easy to implement."
"The best feature is rate limiting. If I'm expecting 500 visits per hour, Cloudflare will limit the requests if I suddenly get 50,000."
"The simplicity of the solution is its valuable features as almost no effort was needed to learn the configurations. It is also one of the cheapest firewalls available in this category."
"It's the endpoint exposition. We don't need to expose our VPN server to the internet and need a zero-test solution. I can apply some conditional access to the endpoint that's connecting to our network to check their security policies or the security condition of their workstation. Once the workstation is trying to connect to my internal network, then I would like to check the discrete condition of these endpoints that are trying to access my internal network. We created some conditional access. We have CrowdStrike, to check if the CrowdStrike is installed, to check if it's updated, and to check for Windows updates. We created some conditional policies to check it."
"Cloudflare Access is a stable solution."
"I'm very satisfied with the environment and the dashboard."
"It has modules to detect malware and that is a strong point. It has a very nice way of showing you, directly in the product, a lot of details about certain pieces of malware. It goes very deep and even shows you the assembly code. It also does detonations on files and shows you the results in different operating systems. That is very useful."
"What's really good about this platform is that you have full visibility, it has a very nice and very friendly UI, it's quick, and there's no latency in the scanning."
"By the end of the year, I gave the company some reports, and we didn't have any issues or malicious activities from any point of view, especially from email."
"Perception Point has helped to reduce our false positive rate by approximately 90% and, more generally, it has reduced the total number of alerts we get from more than 100 endpoint alerts per month to individual ones, representing a greater than 90% drop in alerts."
"The vendor’s Incident Response team is very good when it comes to incident management, improving the security of our email system immensely."
"Their security engines are very effective at stopping malware and potential attacks before they reach a user's mailbox. They have the best detection engine."
"The main benefit to our company is the reduction of risks with the potential to evolve into more complex security events, as the solution stops those risks before they get to the end-user and is much more effective than other solutions we used in the past."
"The most valuable feature of Perception Point Advanced Email Security is the filtering and securing of emails."
"The solution is very good at covering all of my organization's needs."
"I find the comprehensive features of Sophos Email most valuable."
"I have found Sophos Email to be scalable."
"Sophos Email is a stable solution."
"The filtering capabilities are precious and far superior to others I've used. It's intuitive in what it pushes to quarantine, and users can quickly review, free, or delete items without needing an administrator, making it ideal for a multi-user environment."
"Good VIP protection, time of click protection and the Sandstorm feature."
"Sophos Email provides both inbound and outbound filtering."
"It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution."

Cons

"Operating and tuning the product is difficult."
"Feedback could be enhanced. While I work efficiently with Clover as a partner in Mexico City, sometimes the information and requests are easier to manage with more concrete solutions."
"When there are any dynamic changes in complex applications, the tool takes a lot of time, making its analytics-related area a major matter of concern where improvements are needed."
"Cloudflare One is not very powerful, but for what we require, it is basic and sufficient."
"Our subscription plan for the solution has a limitation of bot signatures."
"For the topic of improvement, providing some training material is one of my suggestions."
"Feedback could be enhanced."
"The tool should provide on-premise versions. Currently, all versions are cloud-based."
"Maybe a couple of improvements on their portal would be good, but other than that, I think it is good."
"Its websites for analysis need to be a bit more approachable for people who are less technical."
"They need more customer engagement."
"Perception Point Advanced Email Security should make available more use cases."
"They could improve their anti-spam engine a little bit, because there are a lot of false positives. Sometimes, emails pass through their system but are spam. In terms of security and engines for malicious emails and antivirus, they're doing a good job. Their other engines can be improved."
"Integration and end-user interaction can be improved as the current system does not allow end-users to send back information to the platform, unlike Google Workspace or competitive tools like Ironscales."
"Coming from products in the Microsoft stack, Perception Point doesn't really give you, as an admin, a lot of options to make changes yourself. It's more on their side to make changes in the back end. That's something they could improve on in the future."
"They could improve their anti-spam engine a little bit, because there are a lot of false positives."
"The solution has not found a way to block certain kinds of phishing emails."
"Some existing functionality in the product needs better articulation in how data is displayed."
"Lacks visibility into spam emails."
"If they had better deployments for email security, I might rate them higher."
"Servicing and support are areas with shortcomings where the solution needs to improve."
"The solution's technical support is slow and unresponsive. You need to book time in order to get support."
"Sophos lacks real-time support, which would be a help to us."
"Sophos Email could better detect fake emails, especially when the domain names are similar. It needs to improve spotting spoofed domains, like when one letter differs in a domain name. It also needs to incorporate AI detection. Barracuda detects suspicious emails better. However, malware scanning is better in Sophos Email."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing lacks transparency."
"The pricing of the solution is cheap. The licensing cost is also very low. I rate the cost and pricing a three out of ten."
"The prices are slightly expensive."
"My company has to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution. There are no hidden charges apart from the licensing costs of the solution."
"The solution is not that expensive."
"The pricing is somewhere in the middle. I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten."
"The price tag is no longer $200,000, but rather $300,000 to $400,000. It's twice."
"Cloudflare Zero Trust Platform's pricing is good."
"In Brazil, the dollar price affects the cost. Perception Point Advanced Email Security is about 50 percent less expensive."
"It has very reasonable pricing. Normally, the end user is paying. Perception Point is already in the Amazon marketplace, so we cannot sell it as a distribution partner. For example, we cannot take more than that margin of what they offer in the marketplace. Whatever the end user is paying, it is definitely worth it and it is not that high."
"The pricing and licensing are very fair compared to competing companies in the same field."
"The price of the solution is high."
"The pricing was fair in comparison with the other solutions. We have received good value for what we paid."
"They are not the most expensive vendor. There are much more expensive vendors. They are not cheap, but they are not the most expensive. They are somewhere in the middle."
"Pricing is lower in comparison to Proofpoint."
"We were able to get reasonable pricing that matches the ROI we want, so I think that it is the correct price point."
"Most of our clients are on a perpetual license. If there is a budget issue, they can choose a subscription. However, most of the clients choose the perpetual license."
"The platform is inexpensive. It offers a cost-effective licensing model. We purchase its yearly license."
"The product is cheaper compared to other solutions."
"It falls somewhere in the middle—it's not excessively expensive nor very cheap."
"The solution is expensive."
"I rate the product's pricing a seven out of ten."
"The tool's price is reasonable. On a yearly basis, there is a 20 percent increase in prices, but it is not an issue."
"Sophos Email is neither cheap nor expensive."
