Centralizes our enterprise-wide functions but could benefit from cloud migration
We have dealt with customer service, and it was awful. For a system this size, it felt like we were merely buying software from them. They weren't really partnered with us on it. Reporting bugs and getting feedback, as well as having engineers work on issues, was very transactional. There was no real ownership on Oracle's part. During several support cases, it became difficult to determine ownership at Oracle and get status updates. The on-premises Oracle support is not great in my experience, and I think this is true in the industry. We've read about their software as a solution, and theoretically, their SaaS portal support is a lot better.

Provides seamless integration of different modules in one place
Certain add-ons like quality control, payroll, and HRMS are not part of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud. SAP S/4HANA Cloud doesn't provide a quality control module. SAP S/4HANA Cloud does not have its own payroll and HRMS system. The partners develop their own cloud and integrate with the solution. There are certain modules specific to some industries, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud doesn't deal with those modules. Every partner of SAP S/4HANA Cloud has to develop its own and then integrate and certify with that solution. We can't say that these modules are part of SAP S/4HANA Cloud. There is a little area of improvement that SAP has to opt for particular types of solutions like QC, payroll, and HRMS. The graphics of SAP S/4HANA Cloud are not user-friendly. They don't look like they belong to a branded solution that costs too much. The solution's user interface is not appealing or user-friendly. On a scale from one to ten, where one is bad and ten is good, I rate the solution's user interface a five out of ten. SAP S/4HANA Cloud has built-in reports that are hard-coated. We have to alter or modify built-in reports in different marking segments, but there are no options for that. We have to build complete reports from scratch, and SAP-developed reports are not used in the market. SAP should provide a tool for customizing its developed reports so that there should not be a process of reengineering or reinventing the process.

"The GL and FAH modules have become real-deal players for an organization with many legacy systems that handle transactions and where there is a need to create accounting from these transactions."
"Financials, which are essential to all ERPs, and manufacturing and sales models are among the most valuable features. The specific features implemented depend on the company's needs."
"The on-premise is very similar to the cloud version."
"Oracle is a decent, robust solution that has been tested and used for many years. It can do everything."
"For supply chain management, we are using WMS. When you go to public cloud, you get a full-fledged EWM."
"The technical support team has been responsive and helpful, addressing issues and providing solutions promptly whenever needed."
"The most valuable feature of SAP S/4HANA Cloud is the uptime it provides from being on the cloud. We do not have to manage the solution. All the infrastructure management is done from their side."
"Makes it easier to reach and read data."
"SAP versions used to be quite cumbersome for the end-users. Now SAP S/4HANA has a totally different approach. They use Fiori landing pages, which makes life better."
"SAP S/4HANA Cloud provides integration, controls, efficiency, visibility into business operations, and collaboration, especially for geographically spread operations."
"It is good in data analytics and helps in data analytics."
"I come from a functional consultancy background, and S/4HANA provides excellent procurement solutions for inventory management. One of S/4HANA's best features in the manufacturing module is the ability to calculate product costs."

Cons

"Oracle E-Business Suite is a bit outdated because it's been developed more than ten years ago, and this is an area for improvement. My team is still getting used to the solution, so there could still be some features that have not been enabled or features my team isn't aware of yet. There have been issues with the Treasury module of Oracle E-Business Suite, so this is another area for improvement. My company hasn't decided yet on whether to implement the Treasury module or just go with another solution. Another room for improvement in Oracle E-Business Suite is the design, as it needs to be optimized based on usage patterns. What I'd like added in the next release of Oracle E-Business Suite is the time attribute. The solution still has dashboards being rolled out, so the time attribute could already be there or is still in the process of implementation. I also didn't find much use for the Projects module based on my company's requirements. The integration of Oracle E-Business Suite with the rest of the Oracle tools isn't very tight as well, but it could be because of customizations here in India, where the integrations work seamlessly everywhere, except in India. You'll find gaps because of customizations in India which are very, very irritating. For example, if a procurement is moving in the system then all the data has to move from one module to the other, but in the Oracle E-Business Suite Procurement module, you'll notice breaks or gaps that require you to manually transfer that data, so I'd like this improved in the next release of the solution."
"I would say the integration needs improvement. Oracle needs to work on the integration layer to make the solution much more robust and modern."
"We are moving to the cloud and are looking at the cloud version of it for the cost of ownership and a more modernized integrated platform."
"The deployment of the Oracle E-Business Suite was simple. I have done many deployments and I find it simple, but for others, it might not be easy."
"Performance issues and handling of financial data could be improved."
"It's not easy for people without technical knowledge to understand how to implement it."
"I would like an end-to-end in terms of processes. There are different modules, however, there's not that end-to-end that we are looking for in terms of process automation."
"Oracle E-Business Suite uses an old technology (Forms), which is Java-based."
"The system is very heavy and requires a lot of resources and a dedicated team."
"UX design is not flexible and lacks compatibility with mobile devices."
"The solution's speed and dashboard could be improved."
"The reporting aspect needs improvement, specifically in integrating the EWM and MM modules into a single report."
"SAP S/4HANA Cloud's customization can be improved."
"SAP S4HANA Cloud's production planning screens could be improved."
"The product can be improved by including a module for after-sales service modules."
"It can be done within a few hours, but it also depends on the customer's requirements. If they want some changes, it may be done within one hour. But if there are large-scale changes, it may take one week or one month."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Oracle's licenses are not straightforward."
"The license is very expensive and I think that it needs to be cheaper to get a wider range of users or customers."
"I have found the solution overall to be expensive. There are additional fees on top of the standard license."
"Oracle's pricing is lower than that of its competitors."
"Pricing for Oracle E-Business Suite is seven out of ten. You must pay extra for maintenance and technical support, apart from standard license fees."
"The pricing of Oracle E-Business Suite is too high."
"Oracle generally gives a lot of discounts."
"We pay about $300 a year in order to license the solution."
"S/4HANA is an enterprise solution that many can't afford. You must invest a lot to get the most out of it. It isn't cheap. I rate the price seven out of 10."
"The pricing model can be complicated in certain scenarios."
"The solution's costs have significantly increased, and we have not seen any anticipated cost savings."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a seven out of ten."
"It's very expensive."
"The tool's pricing is reasonable."
"I feel the solution is expensive when it comes to what can be obtained with open source software."
"I don't remember the specifics about the licensing, but it's scaled and modular. You pay for what you use. It's not a one-size-fits-all license. You have a license for every single module. It's similar to Oracle."
