Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Deep traffic inspection has strengthened threat detection and provides smooth zero day protection
I have been dealing with Deep Discovery that inspects incoming and outgoing traffic, and it is used for packet filtering. The most valuable features and functionalities in Deep Discovery are that it is used for monitoring malicious traffic, and it operates down to the firewall and inspects any malicious traffic. I have used Deep Discovery's sandbox analysis feature. The sandboxing feature helps our threat detection efforts as it internally inspects the malicious data and holds it in the sandbox, and after the analysis, the file is quarantined. I evaluate Deep Discovery's real-time visibility on network traffic as a better solution for inspecting traffic. In incident response, Deep Discovery captures zero-day threats easily and provides the best visibility on the console. I assess the effectiveness of Trend Micro's real-time analysis in my defense strategy as good, as it does not disturb any work and operates very smoothly in the background without any utilization.

Pros

"It collects and caches and the knowledge of machine learning from different customers to take to the cloud, it makes it better to use for everybody, it allows for quick learning and updates and can, therefore, offer zero-day malware security, and this sharing of metadata helps make the solution very safe."
"We switched because there were a lot of added features with Palo Alto that Check Point didn't have, and it was an upgrade for us."
"The behavior-based detection feature is valuable."
"Stability is one of the features we like the most."
"From a single pane of glass, you can easily manage all of your endpoints."
"The product is mostly automated, and we do not have to make decisions, because all the decisions are made by the product itself and we are not required to create any custom policies since the policies that are created are well defined in the product itself."
"The most valuable features are the fact that it was running in the background and it would intercept any weird stuff, and the fact that it would send things directly to the cloud for sandboxing. It's quite practical."
"It's a nice product that's stable and scalable."
"Its ease of installation is valuable; it has been a low-resource tool and the continuous updates in the past have made it attractive from the standpoint of the trust level on the protection."
"The ability to generate profiles specific to both business groups and organizations has made managing nearly 1000 endpoints very simple."
"Valuable features include good scanning, very light footprint and management console that the client can access and (just as important) in which I can see status of groups of computers (I am a consultant, IT role)."
"The initial setup is not complex at all. It's very straightforward."
"It is excellent endpoint protection for mobiles that does everything it says it will."
"Its ease of installation is valuable. It has been a low-resource tool and the continuous updates in the past have made it attractive from the standpoint of the trust level on the protection."
"Auto-Remediation"
"The solution is very simple and straightforward to use."

"In incident response, Deep Discovery captures zero-day threats easily and provides the best visibility on the console."
"This solution is very stable and provides all of the protection that we are expecting."
"It is their most comprehensive endpoint protection solution, including DLP, Office 365, device control, and the rest of the little bells and whistles that the traditional AV vendors have."
"The most valuable features are the DLP and anti-virus functionality."
"It integrates well with all our tools, including ServiceNow, for fault reporting."
"In a longer term, you definitely get your money worth spending on Trend Micro product."
"What I like the most is the customer pricing because it's a great value."

Cons

"It would be good if they could make an exception for applications."
"In general, the price could be more competitive."
"The only issues that we have are, one the cost, two the dashboard is not very intuitive, even though you can drill down within the dashboard, we usually have to gather information from other sources to determine locations and if its a false positive."
"The onboarding process could be better."
"While using Cortex, I noticed some aspects that could be improved, such as increasing the synchronization speed between XDR and Xnor."
"Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR does not detect malicious activity like in other anti-virus solutions like Trend Micro and Windows with Cisco."
"There is a severe gap in functionality between Windows, Linux, and Mac versions."
"I would like to see improvement in the tool's user interface, particularly in the area of managing alerts and providing more reporting capabilities."
"Webroot Business Endpoint Protection needs to improve its ability to detect threats."
"I'm not happy with Webroot Business Endpoint Protection, for only one reason. It seems that it slows down my interface when I'm doing programming in Microsoft Access, tremendously."
"There needs to be more advanced analytics. It would make it a more powerful antivirus solution within the marketplace."
"Technical support is not the best. It's hard to get a hold of them if we need help. It's something that definitely needs improvement."
"There is one thing that is deplorable with the product that I would change as soon as I found a better one. However, the reports are worthless."
"We need to know more details about how the virus interacted with the computer."
"The console spins up relatively slowly, and some of the configuration items are obscure (e.g., reporting back one time per day is a default setting) and need to be tweaked."
"This product has room for improvement to display a more detailed representation of the problem when a virus is or isn't stopped."
"The solution could be more stable and secure."
"Trend Micro Smart Protection has been discontinued because it uses Linux CentOS OS, so currently we are using the service gateway for this solution."
"I've not explored all of the features up to now. I still need to see all of the features implemented first to be able to see if anything is missing. However, as of right now, it's working very well for us."
"The dashboard or console of Trend Micro Smart Protection should be easier to comprehend"
"Some functionalities within the DLP can be improved."
"Trend Micro support needs more enhancement."
"We were considering switching to SentinalOne because it has pre-detection, and Trend Micro does not offer this; it's something the solution should add."
"No online encryption or cloud services are available for the tool, so my company has to install it mostly in an on-premises environment. Encryption or cloud services need to be made available in the product."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We pay about $50,000 USD per year for a bundle that includes Cortex XDR."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"It's about $55 per license on a yearly basis."
"The pricing is a little bit on the expensive side."
"Licensing for Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR can be costly, especially when it comes to a hundred users. A license is required for each user, and the subscription must be renewed on a yearly basis."
"I don't like that they have different types of licenses."
"It is present, but when compared to other competitive products, I would say it is not less expensive; however, when all of the other added values are considered, the price is reasonable."
"The price of the product is not very economical."
"We are on an annual subscription for the use of Webroot Business Endpoint Protection."
"Get a trial, then a multi-year license."
"Our strategy was to overestimate the complexity and cost. It turned out that Webroot's assurance was justified."
"The solution is very cost-effective."
"If you purchase for clients, then you are the managing billing entity. It's better to either get a monthly subscription check from your clients, or to prepay for the year (so as to not keep cash in reserve to pay the bill each month) IMHO."
"Webroot Business Endpoint Protection is not too expensive. My licenses cost me between $300 and $400. It is really good price wise."
"We evaluate other options using multiple choices, best value, management and functionality."
"Its cost is not much per month. Our price is a couple of bucks a user."
"The pricing is good compared to Symantec and McAfee."
"Whether something is affordable or pricy, is relative. It depends on the value an institution has attached to a capability. For us, security is a premium requirement, I can't say a solution is pricey if we are able to afford it and run it for seven years, I would say it's affordable."
"The licensing is on a yearly basis and I believe our organization paid about $2,000/year. However, it's been a while since I looked at the pricing and we no longer use the solution."
"There is an annual subscription license on it. In the next release, there might be monthly payment options. So, people might be able to get it through AWS in the future, but right now for on-prem, it is annual."
"Our organization has paid licensing for three years, which averaged about $4.00 USD per user. We've been satisfied with the licensing. It's quite reasonable."
"The cost seems competitive."
"A yearly price has to be paid. I rate the pricing an eight out of ten."
"If I'm not mistaken, for three years, for 400 licenses, we paid nearly 15,000 euros. We don't have any additional costs that we have to pay on top of that."
