It helps us speed up the development process. It's highly complex in setting up correctly.
The most valuable feature of Codar is the ability to provide us with faster application releases It's helped us with moving away from doing everything manually and from a siloed way of thinking. Previously, it would take four months to make a small change in our application. Codar helps us speed…

Automation has streamlined complex financial workflows but still needs more intuitive orchestration
Something to improve in VMware Aria Automation would be related to VCF 9, as I do not know what it is trying to bring because they exposed it as the solution of everything. So VCF 9 will bring VCF Automation and VCF Operations, the new product line of VMware. I have not seen what this brings or what else it includes. Maybe in the area of vRealize Orchestrator, this would be beneficial because VRO can do everything. Perhaps a more user-friendly way to use that tool would be helpful because the possibilities there are endless. I am looking for more user-friendly navigation in VMware Aria Automation.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Codar is the ability to provide us with faster application releases."
"We primarily use it for restoration services."
"I find the system to be intuitive and user-friendly. In general, I'm quite happy with the entire setup. Once you configure the system, navigating the portal is pretty simple. They use a lot of the vSphere UI interface structure so it's intuitive, especially if you have used anything vSphere-related before."
"This is one of VMware's best products for automation."
"We have developed a complete, multi-tiered, stable build system for our Internet servers with SaltStack as the base of the build system, and it is stable and easy to modify as we grow and change our needs."
"We were able to reduce the delivery time of requesting a VM from three weeks to under 10 minutes using the vRealize Automation Suite."
"I want to build automation that is intelligent, part of the fabric of our environment, and is somewhat self-sustaining. I think SaltStack can help me do this."
"The self-service capabilities are by far the best that we've seen in terms of features."
"Fast provisioning and integration with public cloud."

Cons

"Codar works well enough, but it's highly complex in setting up correctly."
"I have found 7.4 to be user-friendly but 7.5 is not, in fact, it's a nightmare."
"Normally, on the first call to technical support, you don't get the right person. The log analysis takes a long time. This is something which should be improved."
"The stability is okay, but could be improved. We sometimes receive strange errors, which can only be solved with specialists."
"The costing and pricing models of their product."
"Windows support is advertised as a first-rate supported platform; however, it is ripe with issues that have added countless hours to our roadmap."
"We have seen some issues with upgrades or installations. This means we have to raise a call every time with VMware."
"Not as good, but there are some components in vRA that you can scale out a lot more quickly than other pieces."
"I would also like to see them streamline the install. It's split between Windows and Linux appliances, and it would be easier if it was all appliances. I think they're going that way."
