Easy to set up, stable, and helpful for integrating the systems that require a fast and reliable connection
They can provide hardware for specific use cases because some of the NetFoundry solutions don't have the hardware. Currently, they're more into software, but some of the clients want a single brand instead of having multiple vendors. So, if they can offer hardware as well, it would be good. If they have a firewall capability, that would be good. Currently, because they don't have a firewall, we are required to put another layer of control on top of their solution. A built-in firewall would be quite good. Their technical support can be improved. There should be a better handover of a case from one support person to another.

Centralized management has simplified branch connectivity while cost and pricing could be optimized
When speaking about features, I think the most effective features of Prisma SD-WAN are the centralized management; I don't see any complications here. Centralized management improves network visibility because if I want to configure multiple branches and firewalls, it could be quite complicated. When I have the centralized system, it's easier for users to access branches and manage all the firewalls in the branches. We have the opportunity to use SD-WAN application-aware traffic management. With multiple branches and ISP connections, we track applications and divert traffic depending on ISP connections and speed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The price is very reasonable compared to others and the cloud service is free."
"It is quite stable; we don't have a problem, and in terms of reliability, we haven't encountered or heard of any issues from our customers."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is in the cloud."
"The Network as a Service that they offer is most valuable."
"Prisma SD-WAN provides security when remote users want to access an application or internal server."
"The solution has saved us about 50% of our costs, and moving from a legacy Layer 3 WAN to Prisma SD-WAN has resulted in a reduction in outages."
"The AI ops feature streamlines revisions and automates compliance."
"Overall, it makes things easy and it is cost-effective."
"The product provides efficient stability, security, and reliability features."
"Prisma SD-WAN offers capabilities such as path selection based on Layer 7 attributes and application quality of service at the application level."
"Overall, I would rate Prisma SD-WAN an eight out of ten."
"I like that the integration with Palo Alto is easy."

Cons

"If they have a firewall capability, that would be good. Currently, because they don't have a firewall, we are required to put another layer of control on top of their solution. A built-in firewall would be quite good."
"The solution could provide internet access control."
"The product could be a bit cheaper for the services it provides."
"Accessibility could be improved. Any new person attempting to access Prisma will have difficulty. It doesn't have CLI available."
"The setup isn't completely straightforward, but it's manageable when you have proper knowledge."
"It is widely known that Palo Alto is quite expensive. The licensing model is pretty expensive, which would be the only downside to Palo Alto, but regarding the features of the box, it does what it needs to do."
"The only con is the pricing because it's more premium."
"Event correlation and analysis capabilities do not help minimize the number of alarms from a single event. That is the problem. We are getting a lot of incidents, and there is some issue with the correlation. That is still a drawback."
"I'd like to see them move more towards CASB."
"Prisma SD-WAN should provide more flexibility and scalability on the hardware."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I don't have the cost, but in terms of its management viability, it is acceptable for most of our clients. It seems quite fair."
"The price is very reasonable compared to others and the cloud service is free."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten."
"If you're already invested in a Palo Alto product, it would be logical to use this solution. If not, there might be some other solutions that are more viable in terms of pricing."
"This solution stood out because it cost considerably less than the other SD-WAN solutions out there from Cisco."
"It is more expensive than Fortinet."
"Prisma SD-WAN is a pretty expensive solution."
