PeopleSoft is affordable for existing customers only, not for new customers. The popularity is declining for several reasons. Resources are moving to cloud solutions such as Workday cloud. Even though it is the same Oracle environment, professionals are transitioning due to challenges in availability, scalability, and resource allocation. When there are limited hiring opportunities for a particular technology, professionals must consider switching technologies either internally within their organization or personally. If a project ends and someone is placed on bench without new opportunities, they often need to switch to technologies with more market demand. Currently, resources are frequently moving to other ERP systems such as Workday, SAP, Mulesoft, and Salesforce, as there are numerous ERP systems in the marketplace.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Microsoft Viva Insights is integrated with Outlook and SharePoint. It helps me to reply and attend all scheduled meetings."
"PeopleSoft is mostly used for payroll and core HR functionality. Some customers use it for its finance module."
"The customization and catering to our specific needs have helped."
"The solution's scalability is good."
"The most valuable feature is ERP application information."
"The breadcrumb approach to navigation in PeopleSoft is good. nVision is also a good supplement."
"PeopleSoft automatically generates code, making it easier to integrate with third-party or internal systems."
"It's great for helping users deal with their supply chain."
"I would rate scalability a nine out of ten."

Cons

"I get very few notifications of Microsoft Viva Insights on my mobile."
"Parsing of CVs is productive but accuracy can be improved."
"It would be nice if it became even more declarative in its development."
"PeopleSoft is affordable for existing customers only, not for new customers."
"The solution could improve by offering PeopleSoft site licenses. Currently, Oracle is pushing for everyone to transition to the cloud, but clients are discontent with this approach. Offering new PeopleSoft site licenses would be the most beneficial for our clients."
"I would like to see improvement in the UI."
"Initial setup can be complex without training or use of consultants."
"Scalability is not there in PeopleSoft. Its performance and resilience are also very bad. When you're trying to stretch it, it breaks. It is not resilient. It is also not stable. It is stable as far as data is concerned, but the infrastructure is not stable."
"The product was too complicated when it came to navigating through multiple places and the search filters weren't great."

What are the differences between Oracle HCM Cloud and PeopleSoft?
Although both are solutions to manage HR, their differences make each one suitable for different companies. Oracle Cloud HCM is a platform for connecting all human resource processes in your organ...
What do you like most about PeopleSoft?
I use the reporting feature occasionally to check for potential improvements in timesheets. We have integrated it with Power BI.
What is your experience regarding pricing and costs for PeopleSoft?
The pricing is customer-specific, so I am not generally privy to what the pricing for licensing is. However, generally, I think PeopleSoft is certainly cheaper than cloud solutions.
