Efficient project management with robust data tracking and an easy setup
When I have too many elements or items in a project, it becomes cumbersome, especially during printing. Non-technical users do not need all the data, so it's primarily for technical personnel. Without guidance, it's challenging to use the app. With guidance and expert knowledge, it becomes manageable, however, it's not for non-technical teams. The worst part is handling too many items, like 1,000 items, which Microsoft Project struggles with, especially when printing. Printing on A3 size is quite burdensome, so I prefer viewing it on a tablet or computer. On a tablet or phone, I can see the full project elements depending on the screen size.

User-friendly, cost-effective, and efficient
The most valuable feature of nTask is its user-friendly interface. Its simplicity makes it easy to navigate, and the consistent structure across modules means the tool guides you intuitively. This is especially beneficial for those who aren't tech-savvy or haven't worked with complex tools before. Being part of a small team, cost efficiency is crucial for us, and nTask fits well within our budget while providing all the necessary features. Additionally, we find the Gantt chart feature particularly useful for planning fundraisers with various task dependencies. The reporting feature ensures accuracy in our financial work. Being a small team, we appreciate nTask's customization options in the business plan.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Project is status reporting."
"The user interface is simple and it helps me in planning what needs to be accomplished."
"The Gantt chart view is great."
"Dependencies (not typically effectively used in "Agile" techniques) allow understanding of actual project status and challenges."
"Microsoft offers good support."
"I use Microsoft Project to manage project timelines."
"The reporting and national resource capacity planning are the most valuable features."
"It comes with our Office 365."
"The most valuable feature of nTask is its user-friendly interface."

Cons

"The full suite would be pretty expensive."
"The stability of the solution is an area with certain shortcomings that need improvement."
"The scalability is co-dependent on the stability of the product. We have 4000 users, and at times the product is slow."
"In a future release, the dashboard should improve because there isn't one, I had to create my own."
"This solution needs more customization."
"Microsoft's solution isn't really a collaboration tool, however. If you need a collaboration tool, you can use Slack, which can be integrated with your JIRA."
"Planview FLEX licensing gives us a central repository where all the projects are stored so you can check the finances, resources, etc. It's quite useful to have everything connected. We don't have that for Microsoft Project. It's disconnected. The reporting capabilities could also be better, especially with finance and resources. Everybody complains about reports. That's why we need another tool."
"Tech support needs improvement."
"nTask currently lacks a direct chat or communication feature."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I am not aware of any additional costs apart from the standard licensing fees of the solution."
"Microsoft Project is an expensive solution."
"The cost for an on-premises-based license is a one-time fee, and the cloud-based is an annual payment plan."
"The license fees for the professional version, which is estimated to be approximately $1,600, and the standard version, which is approximately $1,200, may be considered expensive by some users. This is something that could be improved to make the platform more accessible to a wider audience."
"The solution is expensive."
"We purchase perpetual licenses due to the high cost of subscriptions, which are about 1,000 Australian dollars."
"The license is a one-time payment but it is expensive."
"I do not have personal experience with pricing or licensing of this product."
