Pros
"The product offers good compatibility with other solutions and has good integration potential.""Overall, the policies are good. They are easy to implement.""The solution is fast.""The product is easy to implement.""I use McAfee MOVE AntiVirus for internet security, file security, and ensuring I don't have viruses on my system.""It has a very good interface.""The features that I have found most valuable are its ability to detect and delete known malware and the DLP in particular.""There is no problem with the stability of the product...It is a scalable solution."

Cons
"Sometimes, the updates don't happen successfully. The updates start, but they are not completed. Let's say there is a process that runs on the server-side every night, and it pushes the updates. Sometimes, these updates fail. I'm not sure whether it is a McAfee's problem or an internal problem with our systems. If this is really an issue with McAfee MOVE AntiVirus, McAfee can work on it and improve it in the next release. If it is an internal issue, I need to figure out why it is happening within the organization. We may need to take some technical support from McAfee to see what the problem is and then we need to get it fixed. At this point in time, all I know is that it happens sometimes.""Overall, the solution could be better priced.""The dashboard should be improved, as a more user-friendly version is required.""The solution could always be cheaper.""The most valuable features of this product are the updated database, the low consumption of resources, and that you can leave it working in the background and it doesn't need any attention.""Lacks virtual machines in the reporting.""I would like to see monthly reports of the usage.""McAfee MOVE AntiVirus could improve by consolidating the dashboard of all the endpoints and proving real-time alerts."

More McAfee MOVE AntiVirus Cons →

"It needs better global visibility of the virtual environment.""Trend Micro is scalable if you have the budget for it.""Deep Security's most valuable features are antivirus and host intrusion detection.""It would be helpful if they could send emails notifying their users about the recommended upgraded versions to address the newly discovered vulnerabilities.""We have had some issues when it drains some of the resources of the server.""What this product lacks at this stage is the ability to have automated workbooks to do the response. At this stage, the response is more manual, and it is not automated. If there is a response functionality in Deep Security, similar to what we have in EDR these days, to automatically respond to some of the threats, it would be cool. So, we'd like to have an automated response. There should be a response functionality.""The product isn't very user-friendly.""The initial setup was complex."

    Overview

McAfee MOVE AntiVirus is a virtual environment antivirus solution. Traditional antivirus doesn’t play well with virtualized infrastructure. McAfee MOVE AntiVirus brings optimized, advanced malware protection to virtualized desktops and servers. It offers security and performance for your company without requiring that every virtual machine be installed with an antivirus application. After identifying threats, McAfee MOVE AntiVirus protects your environment using the settings you define.

The software comes with two deployment options: Multi-Platform and Agentless. Both methods are handled and reported on by McAfee ePO and offer consistent protection.

    McAfee MOVE AntiVirus Features

McAfee MOVE AntiVirus has many valuable key features. Some of the most useful ones include:

    • Seamless management: A single solution for desktops and virtual servers works across all major hypervisors. An agentless, tuned option works on VMware vCloud Networking and Security and VMware NSX.
    • Optimized scanning: To eliminate scanning bottlenecks and delays, the solution offloads configuration, scanning, and .DAT update operations from individual guest images to an offload scan server.
    • Visibility: Ability to see into workloads and their underlying platforms through Cloud Workload Discovery for private cloud deployments.
    • Zero-day threat protection Quickly detect and contain zero-day threats and integrate perimeter and virtual machine protection with use of local reputation intelligence.
    • Flexible deployment: Run the same solution in multi platform environments, including agentless environments (VMware, Windows, and Linux VMs) and all major hypervisors and Windows VMs.
    • Single console management The ePolicy Orchestrator implements security solutions across virtual, physical, and cloud environments.
    • Optimization of resources: Scale your scanning power either up or down by using elastic provisioning of offline scanners with event notifications.
    • Manage Your Policies: Automatically tag vulnerable virtual machines and unify policies.

    McAfee MOVE AntiVirus Benefits

There are many benefits to implementing McAfee MOVE AntiVirus. Some of the biggest advantages the solution offers include:

    • Malware scanning is offloaded: Instant security with minimal impact on memory and processing.
    • Boosts web and intrusion protection
    • Blocks unknown and zero-day threats: File analysis in real time via McAfee Global Threat Intelligence.
    • Reduces setup and updates: Virtual appliance that is dedicated and hardened.
    • Protects against antiviral storms: Scheduled and on-access scans are available options.
    • Deployment flexibility: Agentless on VMware or multiplatform (vendor neutral).
    • Leverages McAfee ePO software: Control, at-a-glance visibility, and reporting across your endpoints.

    Reviews from Real Users

Trend Micro Deep Security stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its robust data and loss prevention feature and its patch management, which saves users money. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

One PeerSpot reviewer, a Senior Security Advisor at a healthcare company, writes, “DLP, Data Loss Prevention, and the complexity of how we manage the console and how this client, or this tool, will notify us when there is something going wrong within the server and endpoint, is good.”

Nadeem S., CEO at Haniya Technologies, notes of the solution, “Patch management is most valuable. The major selling point of Deep Security is that it is based on the cloud. Deep Security is for the servers and databases of data centers, and generally, for patch management, you have to shut down the machines, and then you have to restart them. So, they need shutdown time, which is a cost.”
