Identity has become our central gatekeeper and has provided secure single sign-on for all users
Microsoft Entra ID can improve by focusing more on new passwordless methods and becoming a primary adopter. One feature we would like to see is the ability to have security questions for password resets. I know the current capability is phasing out, so we do not have an alternative method yet. Customers who already use security questions require a smoother transition for that capability to be available. My experience with the deployment has had some challenges, particularly around the Microsoft MFA campaigns. The hardest part is moving users from a different MFA provider to the Microsoft MFA provider, as it ultimately depends on user activity. In large enterprises with numerous users across various geographies, this transition takes time. If there are ways to exert more control around that process, it would improve the situation.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has improved our organization because it is fast, accurate, and easy to maintain."
"Having access to Azure Active Directory on the cloud gives us speed and use of the latest technology. The application services are very good, such as GitHub."
"It has given us the ability to be able to establish single sign-on identities in which we can establish credentials no matter where we are, whether it is on-premises or in the cloud, in a hybrid cloud, or in an additional connection from another cloud where we share equipment or host."
"We're using the whole suite: device management, user credentials, everything that's possible."
"Microsoft Entra ID deserves a ten out of ten rating."
"Don't delay implementing this solution, it's the best thing you can do for your identity protection."
"The premier services we have are very good."
"The two-factor authentication provides an additional layer of security for our organizational data, so Microsoft Authenticator plays a crucial role in making our confidential data more secure."
"A couple of features are valuable, but the one that comes across the most to me is multi-factor authentication."

Cons

"One item I would like to see improved is the ability to clean the deeper parts of the machine with simplicity."
"Transitioning to the cloud is very difficult. They need the training to make it easier."
"There are some features, where if you want to access them, then you need to make use of PowerShell. If someone is not really versed in PowerShell scripting, then they would definitely have issues using some of those features in Azure Active Directory."
"I would like to be able to authenticate Wi-Fi users using the Azure ID"
"My main concern is the occasional lack of documentation and the frequency of changes, which can make feature location challenging."
"Our users sometimes experience issues from having multiple Microsoft accounts, which can cause some confusion and hassle."
"I would rate my customer service and technical support as six out of ten, noting that level two support is really poor while everything else above that is good."
"Microsoft Entra ID could be improved with more out-of-the-box integrations with other parties."
"ESAE management, especially the admin tools, could be improved. It should be built in by the vendor, and I shouldn't have to add patches or updates to connect to my domain directly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The machine costs around five hundred thousand dollars."
"The licensing model is straightforward. I don't think there are any issues with the E3 license or E5 license."
"We pay a yearly license. Licenses are very expensive."
"We are currently on the education plan, so the price is slightly better than the development plan."
"The licensing costs are yearly. There is a standard fee per user."
"The P1 version costs $6 per user per month."
"The solution was fairly priced the last time I checked the costs."
"We have various levels of their licensing, which includes users on different levels of their enterprise offering."
"Active Directory is bundled with a package of Microsoft services, so it doesn't cost much. I don't know about the individual license of Active Directory."
